Old Bled House

I just came back from a 2-night stay at the Old Bled House, and I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is a little off the main road but very close to the lake and various shops (bars, restaurants, post office, etc.). I liked the decor of the hotel and the restaurant. I stayed in a Deluxe double room (room 15) on the second floor, and I loved it though there was no lake view (all lake view rooms were already fully booked). The whole staff is wonderful. I interacted by mail with Ana and Neža who are 2 charming ladies. The room was big and very well decorated. The Old Bled House is actually a 300-year-old farmhouse with a cozy rustic decor. There are no blackout curtains or shutters, but this did not bother me. I did not have breakfast so I cannot comment. I had dinner at the restaurant my first night and it was very nice. However, I recommend booking the restaurant as it is quite popular. My only remark: there’s no full-length mirror which would be very helpful. A box of tissues would be appreciated. The toiletries are basic (only liquid soap) and the change of towels every 2 days. Those two things didn't bother me all that much. I really appreciated the fact that there are a lot of electrical outlets. I counted 11 in my room. In a lot of hotels, there are no outlet next to your bed... I already booked a room to spend Xmas there with my best friend and I can’t wait to go back to experience the special atmosphere during this specific time of the year, hoping we will have snow to make the decor even more magical!

The front desk had a lovely, low-key approach on arrival — we were told to drop our bags, head down to the lake to grab cake and a glass of wine, and come back at 3 for our room. No orientation when we returned, no welcome drink or amenity, but at least the tone was relaxed. The reality of the room: small and cramped. There was a table and two chairs taking up space we didn't need, which we had to move out of the way every night just to open our carry-ons. The bed was extremely firm and the pillows extremely soft, and between the two I didn't sleep well. Hot water was a plus — it worked well. In the bathroom, the hand soap was actually nice, but there was no body soap, shampoo, or conditioner, so plan on bringing your own. Would we stay again? We would probably choose somewhere else.

Gorgeous quaint hotel that looks like it should be in a fairy tale. Rooms are a bit smallish and bathroom is tiny. Location is good - slightly away from the main drag but very walkable. Best restaurant ever on site - food and wine were fantastic; staff were also great. Highly recommend.

The place is super cute. Staff is friendly and helpful. A short walk to the lake.

A small, quiet, cute hotel, very different to commercial chain offerings. Very rustic in character with a firm matress on a wooden base. We stayed for 2 nights and it was perfect for that. Fridge and mugs/glasses in room. No real toiletries other than multi use liquid soap. Bathroom was very small but adequate. We did not have a view, looked out onto a plastic roof of the attached restaurant. We ate at the restaurant and it was fantastic. Highly recommended. We walked to the lake in under 5 minutes. Breakfast provided all the basics but food should have been covered. Orange juice is already poured for guests and is on the table. Probably not necessary to do this. The outstanding thing about this accommodation is the team working here. They were wonderful! Lots of smiling, extremely helpful, they were busy but nothing was too much trouble. I would not hesitate to recommend for a short stay.

If you like cosy, charming and quaint, look no further. Our room was quite compact with an en suite, was always clean and felt a bit like an adventure in itself. The reception staff are very attentive, helpful and engaging. It is located about 250 metres from the lake itself, the walk back is up a slight incline but we found no issue with that. The other part of the town is accessible in the opposite direction. The restaurant attached to the property is excellent and reasonably priced. I would sincerely urge you to try it ay least once. If you fancy something a bit less 'sterile' than the norm I would heartedly recommend this establishment.
