Good points. Nice swimming pool area. Has a gym/fitness room albeit limited. Mainly cycle and running machines. Staff polite and friendly. Rooms spacious and clean. Beds ok. Medium. Reasonable location. Staff tried to help next day with some room problems. Bad points. Rooms. No water in room. No mini bar. Showers cold first night. No welcome drink or anything on arrival after 24 hour travel. And nothing in the room. You literally couldn’t even buy any water in the room if you want it. No kettle, no mugs, no tea coffee. No anything. No shower gel. Shampoo only. Only 1 toilet roll. Only two towels. Fan not work in bathroom. Headboard literally degrading and falling apart. Two gin and ginger beers at bar in pool. £22!!!!! Uk money! Hotel 3 star maximum but with benefit of facilities like indoor pool and fitness room. Poor English or none by most staff. ( I understand maybe you could argue I should be speaking Spanish to come to a Spanish-speaking country. But this is the capital of Colombia and a tourist destination ) Room needed redecoration and maintenance. No instruction book ( where everything is etc ) Overall, for the money we paid its an okay hotel because it’s clean and has a fitness room, reasonable location and a nice pool. But some basic things really let it down like no water or tea or coffee facilities in the room. No mini bar. A greeting drink when you come in from a long trip would have made a huge difference and would all help. Personally, because these basics are missing, I would not stay here again.

It was not a good first impression when we arrived in the pouring rain, and the receptionist couldn't find our booking and didn't seem overly bothered about it. I had to show her confirmation on my phone for her to then look a bit harder, finally finding it but no explanation or apology. We then had to sign numerous forms, goodness knows what for, and hope they are not signed to be charged for anything ! But after the initial bad start, the rest was all good. Our Twin Room was lovely, nice and spacious and even had a mini fridge, hob and sink - like a mini kitchenette. Desk, wardrobe, loads of power sockets, and a safe as well. No ac, so the room got quite stuffy so had to keep the windows open. The shower was the best we've had in 3 weeks in Colombia, super pressure, boiling hot, and lots of room - amazing ! Very good value, and the breakfast was really good - cereal, coffee/hot chocolate, fresh juices, eggs to order, pancakes, fresh bread, cheese, ham, salad, toast etc. Very small area though with only a few tables, so it soon felt very cramped. Lovely rooftop garden, but unfortunately it rained both evenings we were there so we didn't use it. Originally built in 1921, and some of it does show its age - the lift looks like the original, really tiny, and jerks alarmingly when it first moves ! The morning receptionist spoke very good english and was really friendly and helpful, and booked us a taxi to the airport for 36,000 pesos. Very good location in La Candelaria area, so nice and easy to walk to main sights from there, and just around the corner from Museo de Oro.

Just arrived in Colombia so thought I’d stay somewhere half decent, nice place, comfortable bed, sick rooftop pool. Only gripe I’ve really got is that a cleaner stole some items. A T-shirt, tooth brush, toothpaste and jumbo pack of wet wipes that were left on my bed. Worst part is that the wet wipes won’t be used to there full potential as they bring masturbation to the next level. As for the toothbrush and toothpaste, I hope you and your family all caught herpes as I had a stinking coldsore on my lip. Good night god bless

My second time staying at an Ibis; LOVE these properties. The rooms are very basic but you'll have what you need. The property is fun and stylish, staff was helpful (including arranging midnight airport transportation for us) and there's a full service bar and restaurant. The breakfast buffet has an amazing selection of dishes; I wish hotels in the US offered breakfasts like this! The National Museum right across the street is well worth a visit and you're a short drive to Monserrate and Candelaria.

In 14 years of traveling internationally, I have never been treated in such a rude manner. When I came here I told them that I was allergic to certain chemicals in cleaning, such as bleach. For the first week everything was fine, then the cleaner Cindy decides to use chemicals in my room, I came back and got a terrible reaction, then they changed my room, and all the sheets they put on the bed in the new room were stained or dirty or stank. I had to get them to change it six times to find clean sheets. Each time Cindy got angrier and angrier. She had no problem with me sleeping on dirty sheets. Then the new room they put me in was above the kitchen in restaurant so I could not sleep because of the noise starting at 7am finish at 10pm. Then they say they would air out the first room and I could go back in the next day, instead they put another guest in there. The next day after that guest had left the room, it still stank of chemicals -as they did not even clean it or open the window in the bathroom- (where the only air is) they left it filthy from the last guest, ( have photos) Cindy lied that she cleaned it (even though there previous guests towels were still hanging in the room, and she was very rude to me. She was angry that I communicated to the Management what was going on so she became malicious. Then the other cleaner Alejandro purposely took my sheet off my other bed in the noisy room and left me with no sheet. Then the receptionist Stephanie laughed in my face for five minutes when I complained, she then came up to my room and got a sheet and got me to help her put it on the bed even though I'm a paying guest (This was at 5pm after waiting all day for my room) I said the sheet was dirty, she got angry and went and got another, this one was also dirty and stank, so I said softly to her that this was also dirty, and she got so angry and just walked out of my room and ignored me. When I came back from the restaurant she left me locked outside for 15 minutes and did not open the door. Another guest who had just arrived was waiting to. It's 9pm and she will not give me a sheet. Do not stay here if you are a ”gringo” they treat you like an animal as they will not treat you in an equal manner if you do not speak Spanish perfect. I speak some Spanish but none of them ever slow down their Spanish so I can understand. They just speak super quick, with no care, also not one speak a word of English. (which is ok, but they could be patient with Spanish). And if you are in the middle of communicating at reception and a Latino comes up they will just ignore you in the middle of the sentence and talk them. I have traveled all over the world and without doubt Stephanie and Cindy are the worst staff I have ever seen at any hotel I have ever stayed at anywhere in the world. Bottom line is I just wanted to pay for a clean, quiet room, which is the purpose of a hotel. They seemed to have forgotten that.
