AAh youngIf you’re looking for a peaceful escape, this place is truly a hidden paradise.
The lush green lawns and vibrant flowers set the perfect tone, while the endless ocean view from every corner offers a sense of calm and tranquility. Each chair around the property gives you a unique perspective whether it’s the towering clouds, Cebu Island in the distance, or the magical sunset painting the sky with warm, rainbow-like hues.
When night falls, the forest comes alive with fireflies, casting tiny glowing lights that feel like nature’s own fairytale. It’s a sight I’ll never forget.
The food here is gut! You can enjoy both Filipino and German home-cooked dishes, and if you’re here, don’t miss the mashed potatoes and the deep-fried pork stuffed with cheese,,it’s absolutely delicious!
What really made this place unforgettable was Joachim, the host. With years of diving experience (more than my age), he helped me overcome my fear of the underwater world. As a beginner, I was nervous, but he is calm and professional guidance made me feel safe and allowed me to experience a whole new world beneath the surface. You can even meet turtles while diving! With various dive spots surrounding the island, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The staff, including Jessel and Luci, were incredibly friendly and welcoming! This little village became a sanctuary where I could truly unwind and connect with nature.
You won’t need music here. The harmony of the wind, waves, and birds is all you need. It’s pure, calming bliss.
＞ The Wi-Fi is good as well, and there are universal power outlets for your convenience
＞ You can easily walk to a nearby lighthouse, discover another quiet white beach, or even play or watching basketball or beach volleyball at the village court
＞ There’s no 7-11(convenience stores) on Cabilao Island, so I recommend bringing the necessary things in advance

What didn't you like:
A small selection of paid breakfast. There is no buffet and you need to choose from the menu. But you can only choose 1 dish and drink for each one. In other words, don't expect to try even a couple of dishes for prepaid money. Here you can choose only 1 dish for breakfast. The rest is paid. It became clear only on the 3rd day of the stay, as they could not understand how the breakfast system worked.
We were charged 390 Philippine pesos for SPAM (or rather, three slices of local ham). It's expensive for this kind and quantity of food.
•On the last day, the cost of paying for a fruit plate increased. It was 350 pesos, it became 400.
•When ordering tom yam, we asked for additional shrimp (+250 pesos). We were served soup with 7 shrimp halves. We still haven't figured out how many shrimps there would have been without the extra ones we paid for. 🙈We thought they forgot to add additional ones. Then we saw the bill and additional shrimps were deposited.
•Few seafood dishes. Considering that you are 50 meters from the sea. There are also few products with vegetables. We suffered because of this. There was no light food.
•The leaves in each salad were stale.
•Service fees were from everything. We understand when the service fee is for food, but we still don't understand why the fee was for a massage. That is, the fee for the massage + the service FEE for the massage.
•There were also fees for filming shark swimming on our phone. We also did not understand why the fee, if the tour itself cost 7,500 pesos + 300 pesos was a service fee (again, we do not understand why it is not included in the total cost of the tour) + 260 pesos for shooting on the phone;
I was disappointed that when booking an excursion to swim with sharks for 7,500 pesos, fishing was included, but no one offered it to us. They just took us, we swam and brought it back. They say the tour took 5 hours, but it was two and a half hours.
•Hand soap has not been refilled in two days;
• The automatic circulation of water in the pool was rarely turned on, so we swam with flies for two days... trying to catch them from there;
•The performers were an hour late for the first tour, and 30 minutes late for the second. We don't understand why our time wasn't respected.
• One shower wasn't working. There was no water coming out of it;
• Often they didn't bring half of the dish. That is, if you ordered a meat plate with grapes, cheese and crackers, be prepared that I may not bring you crackers, but there will be 3 pieces of cheese. That's for 590 pesos. We ordered this plate twice, and two times we didn't get any crackers. The second time we asked and they informed us. Also, when ordering mashed potatoes with chicken, they brought us chicken without mashed potatoes. We asked and were informed. Everything was already cold. They didn't add a banana to the banana pancakes.
Unfortunately, curtains are not blackout, for those who cannot sleep without them, bring a sleep mask.
I write absolutely all the little things, as I am very careful about the service. I really liked this hotel. In any case, I recommend it wholeheartedly. After all, they communicate politely with you here, there are gorgeous views from a spacious room, and there is a large swimming pool. But I have to write down the little things so that the management can improve the quality of service so that staying at this hotel leaves only positive emotions for absolutely everyone! After all, the hotel is really beautiful!

Our villa was simply magnificent: spacious, stylish and very cozy. Snow-white bed linen and impeccable cleanliness created a feeling of real luxury.
The hotel staff are real professionals! Very responsive, sincere and always ready to help. When we decided to rent a bike, it was delivered right to the hotel - new, powerful, for only 500 pesos per day. It was incredibly convenient for trips to Alon Beach (only 7 km) and to local attractions.
I would like to separately note the breakfasts. The food was delicious, fresh and prepared with love. A real pleasure to start the day with such dishes!
We were pleased with the proximity to the street with cafes and restaurants - literally a few minutes walk. This allowed us to try many local dishes and not depend on transport.
Special thanks for organizing an early breakfast before our departure - everything was ready at 5:30, and the transfer to the airport was waiting for us on time.
E L Westensee Resort is a place where you want to come back! The warm atmosphere, perfect cleanliness and caring approach to each guest made our vacation simply unforgettable!

GGuest UserWe stayed at Henann Tawala Hotel for a week upon arriving in Bohol, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel is spotlessly clean, living up to its 4-star rating. Upon arrival, the staff were very attentive—our bags were handled, and we were offered breakfast while our early check-in was expedited.
One thing to be aware of is the 3,000 pesos per night damage deposit. If paid by credit card, any charges, such as room service or drinks at the swim-up bar, are deducted from it, with the balance refunded after checkout.
The breakfast area is beautifully presented, with friendly staff who greet you warmly. After giving your room number and surname, you’re escorted to a table. However, we noticed some inconsistency in service—on some days we were offered coffee or tea, while on others we weren’t. There were also times when water wasn’t provided, so we ended up with double servings after fetching it ourselves. Consistency in service would enhance the experience, but the self-service station for coffee, water, and juices was convenient.
Breakfast options were excellent, with plenty of variety to suit all preferences. Everything was well-prepared and delicious. One small issue was being asked to leave a yogurt behind when I tried to take it out of the breakfast area. I understand the rule to prevent excessive takeaway, but I felt a little flexibility could be applied for small items.
The rooms at Henann Tawala are impressive—spacious with great bathrooms and lovely balconies. Among the best we’ve stayed in, they’re comparable to high-end hotels like Radisson Blu in Cebu or Seda Ayala Central Block.
The reception staff were incredibly helpful. They arranged a reasonably priced van for our trip to Tagbilaran, and the driver was punctual, providing a comfortable ride. He even dropped us off at the right spot for catching a van to Anda at the Dao Bus Terminal.
One nice perk of staying here is the short walk to Henann's beachfront property, where you can use the sun loungers shaded by palm trees and enjoy drinks served by the staff. However, you can’t use the pool there, and you need to pick up towels from Henann Tawala before heading to the beach. The beach is beautiful, but there are quite a few hawkers selling tours, which can be a bit of a nuisance. We found better deals on Facebook. The sea is warm, though there’s a fair amount of seaweed. I’d recommend snorkeling to watch your step, as there are starfish and possibly sea urchins. We only swam once. If you buy mangosteen from beach vendors (150-200 pesos), check for ants, as one of our bags was full of them!
Just outside the hotel’s main gates, there’s an ATM and a laundry shop that charges around 400 pesos for 5 kg, returning clothes washed, dried, and folded by 5 pm. It’s much cheaper than the hotel’s laundry service. We also tried the Kajun Restaurant nearby, which offers excellent chicken sandwiches, fries, and milkshakes in an American diner style.
On the beachfront, our favorite restaurant was the Oasis Resort’s upstairs bar and restaurant, which has a cooling breeze and a great view of the beach. Every dish we tried was fantastic, and we highly recommend it.
While our stay at Henann Tawala was wonderful, Panglao itself felt quite touristy. There were many Korean tourists, and a lot of locals trying to sell tours and services, which sometimes felt overwhelming. Prices were higher than we expected, especially for things like tricycles, which cost 150 pesos per person compared to the 12 pesos we paid in the provinces. Restaurant prices were also inflated, and even basic supplies came at a premium.
If you prefer a quieter, more authentic experience, I’d recommend visiting somewhere like Anda. It has a more laid-back, provincial vibe, with friendlier locals and a slower pace of life, making it a peaceful alternative to the busy, touristy atmosphere of Panglao.

Breakfast was very good, dinner was okay, not great. Compared to other hotels we stayed in the Philippines, this one is on the small side and maybe less family-friendly, more for couples.

Restaurant. Overall, very good to excellent menu. Suggestion: fresh drip coffee or a fresh espresso machine rather than capsules. Also, vegan/Vegetarian options would be appreciated. There is definitely a market for it.
Small suggestion: “Some” staff find it hard to smile. A smile always makes everyone happy, including customers. Overall, staff and management are friendly and professional.
Minor maintenance requested for the bathroom during the 10 days I was here was not taken care of. It doesn’t matter what it is. But I did expect it to be taken care of since I stayed here for a while and I mentioned it a couple of times to them. I am sure (or at least hope) they will take care of it eventually though.
One thing, though I highly recommend: the shower floor is very slippery. Even with water and no soap it becomes quite slippery. I have to be very careful. It’s a very minor thing to take care of but extremely important because safety is paramount. I had to wear my swimming shoes in the shower to make sure I don’t slip. I didn’t mention it to them on the second day and asked for some solution like a nonslip mat, etc., but they did not provide it. 
I did appreciate it that they let me stay over an hour extra to finish packing on my last day without extra charge.
I’ve been coming to the Philippines for over 10 years. I stayed in many provinces and many hotels. This is the best one by far and is highly recommended. Hopefully they will keep their prices reasonable for future. For the money, I think it’s definitely the best you can get as compared to many other places in the Philippines. I would deduct two or three points only for a couple of things I mentioned above. I would give this hotel a 4.7 out of five stars.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with complimentary welcome drinks for two, and the breakfast buffet was absolutely superb! I really felt like I got great value for my money, both of my kids enjoyed the breakfast buffet for free (I believe kids under 7 eat free).
Although it's a bit of a drive from Alona, we’re from Bohol and had our own car, so getting there was a breeze. For those without a vehicle, Solea offers a free shuttle service. They even provide a handy voucher with the pick-up and drop-off schedule. Highly recommended for families looking for a relaxing and convenient getaway!

The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating making us feel right at home. Buffet breakfast was delicious with a variety of options to choose from Asian and Filipino foods. GGuest UserOur stay was okay but it could’ve been improved a lot by some minor adjustments. We were disappointed to find there was no kettle or tea/coffee supplies in the room which we believe should come as standard, especially in a resort. Also, bottled water is only provided on check in and not daily which we were disappointed with also. There were no Sun loungers around the pool like the photos depicted on Trip app. Very limited loungers on the beach front so they were never available. Breakfast was disappointing as there was no bread or fruit, and when bread was requested for myself who does not eat meat and dislikes eggs, there was no butter. I’ve never heard of a restaurant not having butter! There were very limited options, and you were rationed to only have 1 sausage and 1 egg as it was an assisted buffet. There was rice also but nothing to go with it. Also no tea bags available, only coffee. No laundry or scooter rental service which would’ve made our stay a lot more convenient, and no assistance to help find these services when asked if they provided them. Limited plug sockets in the room made it difficult to use our devices and charge them concurrently. There was no shower gel, only a small bar of soap but shower gel is preferable. Water dispensers to fill our own bottles would’ve been nice considering no bottled water provided on days other than check in day. All in all a disappointing stay. Aside from the nice beach, the location was also quite inconvenient as we hadn’t realise there were no other options of shops and restaurants available other than the resort itself.

-Misleading Information and must be updated! The ad shows that the hotel has all the amenities that we looked for are wifi/wired internet in the rooms, swimming pool and few steps from the beach but it's not. We checked in late at night and the location is far from the beach, wifi is available at their Gazebo or lobby area with mosquitos.
-There are 2 different hotel branches, one is few steps from Alona beach proper with wifi in the rooms but no pool and the other one is their 2nd newer branch which is 1 tuktuk ride away from Alona beach proper no wifi in the rooms, wired internet isn't working but with swimming pool.
-I was upfront to the hotelier that I travel for work and measure and need all those amenities that were stated on the website, but the remedy they kept insisting is to move us to their other branch which is older, no pool with wifi in the room as they do not have the wifi nor wired internet in their room at their 2nd hotel and that we can just go their in the morning to use their pool 🤣
-No one from the hotel apologize, not even a Manager's shadow reachout
-Trip.com said sorry and provide compensation but it's not enough for the lost working hours due to the mosquito bites I had while I tried to work at the lobby but was not able to tolerate it as I am afraid of having Dengue, did not get anything from the hotel's management
-tricycle/tuktuk will cost you 100 pesos per way PRICEY
-we tried to walk to the beach as there is another route close to the 2nd hotel but the way is rocky and stairs were steep as it was meant for divers or island Hopper not the white ***** that were posted on the website
-corkage fee so better to buy at the restaurant at the hotel or eat outside
**AGAIN THERE ARE 2 DIFFERENT HOTEL BRANCH WITH DIFFERENT ADDRESSES AND AMENITIES, SO BE CAREFUL IN BOOKING ESPECIALLY IF YOU TRAVEL FOR WORK AND NEEDS WIFI IN THE ROOM.
