Palace Elisabeth, Hvar Heritage Hotel - the Leading Hotels of the World

This hotel couldn’t do enough for you, they were so welcoming and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble and the hotel was beautiful. Lovely rooms with beautiful decor and friendly staff, a good reflection of the country in general. Great location right next to the square and they met us from the ferry to take our luggage for us, they also arranged transporting our luggage back to the ferry on our last day

We had originally booked into the sister hotel at Riva Marina, but was informed after the booking that it was closed for our suggested dates but Suncani had upgraded us to the Palace Elisabeth hotel instead. What an upgrade it was! From the moment you step into the Palace, you are made to feel like the most important guest staying. There were welcome drinks, our luggage had been taken to our room (after being collected at the port off the ferry) and we were given tips about places to go and visit in Hvar. All the members of the front of house team were incredibly polite and helped us with all our queries (including finding the local post office). The amenities themselves were wonderful - our room was the perfect size for the two of us, and looked out over the marina so we could while the day away watching the boats come in and out of the harbour. The decor is very well thought through and the hotel/room/ensuite was beautiful. The turn down service provided each day was great as well, and the brandy was an excellent addition. The complimentary mini bar of soft drinks was a lovely thought especially after a long day of exploring. Breakfast was included in our room cost and it’s the best breakfast we’ve had at a hotel in a long time. The set dishes were excellent, and the staff were incredibly attentive. Each morning started with a fruit platter and bread, and again, as it’s on the shaded roof terrace, you could watch the town square and marina below. Centrally located, it was such a convenient base to explore Hvar. We’ll be back as it’s been one of the top hotel experiences of our honeymoon and it made it feel incredibly special. Extra kudos for having an actual hairdryer rather than a plugged in one in the bathroom.

We left Hvar last week and we honestly had such a wonderful stay at Palace Elisabeth. We couldn’t recommend it more - the hotel is set in the heart of Hvar with gorgeous views from all angles. We couldn’t fault anything. The pool area was stunning and our room was immaculate. The staff were extremely attentive too. We particularly found Luka so welcoming and engaging. He kindly provided us with an array on information regarding Montenegro and the Dalmatian coast and we were so grateful for his genuine kindness. If we were to return to hvar, no doubt would we return to Palace Elisabeth. Thank you for a really amazing stay!

This hotel sets the standard of Five-Plus Star Hotels! The staff is extremely attentive, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable, and the amenities, including the pool and the restaurant, exceeded expectations. My room faced the port, and I enjoyed watching the ships come in. The food at the bar and the restaurant was extensive. The concierge made sure to provide connections to a wide variety of activities. The best aspect of this iconic hotel, with its unbelievable history tied to Empress Elisabeth of Austria, was the staff, who personalized their service to fit guests' every needs. The daily gifts set out in guests' rooms were such a nice surprise and ensured that guests would return for a future vacation. This hotel is the best you will experience in all of Europe.

Palace Elisabeth Hvar certainly charge 5 star prices but this hotel missed the mark for me. The rooms are on the small side; the pool is very average (indoors only) and the concierge booking support for local restaurants and excursions decidedly hit and miss. The waiting staff were all charming and the breakfasts very good. But overall this was not up to 5 star standards based on our recent holiday. They also made the mistake of offering compensation for a restaurant booking they failed to confirm - and then failed to follow through with their offer; a basic error to make in expectation management.
