Quality Inn

this has to be one of the great Appalachian Trail stops. friendly and super helpful staff. btw there is a box of supplies left by other hikers in the lobby for hikers in need!

Stayed here 5 years ago so my second time around. Loved the outdoor bike wash area. The front desk staff was VERY helpful, the room was clean and the shower was hot. The continental breakfast the next morning was very good. Waffle maker, bagels, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, sausage gravy....lots of options. Coffee and juice also. The list of dining options in the room directory needs updating as the Anvil Inn closed years ago but is still listed there. When you leave in the morning it's all downhill back to Lower Town towards the C&O Towpath. I'd stay here again.

I booked this Quality Inn as we were visiting nearby Harpers Ferry. The hotel is very easy to find and very close to the NPS site. I pulled in and wasn’t sure we were at the correct hotel. There were no cars in the parking lot, and it didn’t appear to be open. The parking lot is well lit and has plenty of spaces. The front of the hotel is not inviting at all. Plants and furniture from other rooms all inside a window near the front desk gave “abandoned” hotel vibes. The entrance area needs a serious makeover. Had I not already paid, and it was a non-refundable room, just seeing the outside appearance, I likely would have left. My wife waited in the car until I checked the place out and went to our room. Based on the outside appearance and the vibes I got from random dude hanging out in the lobby, I’m glad I’m very much a 2A person. The lobby area wasn’t bad. It seemed clean but nothing award winning. Word of caution, if you have disabilities, there are no elevators, you must climb steps to the second floor. The steps were dirty, and the treads were very narrow. I’m not sure the steps are to code, but hey. Also keep this in mind if you pack heavy. It’s only one flight, but with the narrow tread, you can rest assured, you’ll probably have to man-handle your bag up/down the stairs. Our room was on the second floor and overlooking the parking lot. While the hotel appears to be doing renovations, our room was clean, but the door didn’t give me good security vibes and would likely be easy to shoulder open if someone really wanted inside. The carpet may need some updating, but generally, everything else inside the room was fine. The room was also very quiet overnight. At one point, I did hear some trucks on US-340, but nothing too noisy. Outside our room, for whatever reason, there were two fans and a pile of dirty bath towels. It appeared as if maybe they had been trying to dry the carpet or something. Not sure I would stay here again but overall, other than first impressions, the room was comfortable and worked well for the night.

4 rating is generous, as I was thinking more like 3.5, if it wasn’t for good enough value for a 2-star motel, very convenient location. Parking was ok but I would have certainly appreciated a spot or two with EV charging stations. Front desk was very courteous, provided local info about diners nearby as well. Reception area was decent, Carpet on stairs and hallways had worn out. Room was spacious enough, with towels and other amenities. Room business chair seat was worn out (unsightly). Breakfast was mediocre. Free High Speed internet Service at the motel was a major disappointment. Actually, Cellular signal coverage through most of Harper’s Ferry was a disappointment. Needless to say my son missed a class in the evening while at the hotel, despite having 2 phones capable of acting as mobile hotspots and with in-room high speed wifi service. Nothing worked well enough for a live online class session.

A very mediocre hotel. Average breakfast, mainly just a few rooms. Turing on to the road is a harrowing experience. The bright side, the bed and pillows were fluffy and comfy, even if the old fashioned bedspread was pulled and had seen better days.

Closest motel to Harpers Ferry Visitors Center entrance. Unfortunately, due to the very busy highway, you cannot walk to the park. Ask for room on the portico side of building. Our end room was away from road noise so we were not bothered by it which others have complained about. What we were very disappointed in was room furniture: see pictures. There comes a time when owners have to buy new chairs. The third chair was very sunken in. No aerator on bathroom faucet and granite counter was cracked. Bed and linens were fine as was the room refrigerator. Breakfast was bare minimum: no bread or English muffin to toast and no hard boiled egg. No banana. Coffee weak. Checkout morning we just left to find breakfast down the road.

Upsides: hotel was clean, had a laundry room was $2 wash, and was a 20 walk from downtown Harpers Ferry, so no issues with parking. Downside: noise from trucks driving along the highway all night. Not sure if the side of hotel facing parking lot is much quieter

This inn’s property inside and out is well maintained. My room in general and bed, specifically, were comfortable. The staff were professional, friendly and helpful. The inn is conveniently near things to do and see in Harper’s Ferry. Yet it is nicely outside of the town’s hustle and bustle. My only complaint is the side of the inn I stayed on faces a main roadway. That road has a steady enough flow of traffic that can be a bit on the noisy side.

It was perfect for our stay in Nov 2022. four of us including 16 & 18 year olds in 2 queen room. The room was spacious and clean. They had everything we needed for our two night stay. Beds were comfortable. hot Breakfast was good for all of us. Eggs, sausage, waffle maker, cereal, yogurt & really good OJ. Definitely could walk into town but we chose to drive. Hikes were great. Maryland Heights hike a must. Appalachian trail hike was good too. Cute town with lots of history. Definitely recommend the Ghost Tour of Harpers Ferry! Parking at National Park center then take free shuttle into town worked great during day. We could park at train station in the evening. $20 entrance fee for 3 days allows you to park in all parking lots. Rabbit Hole eatery was great. Neat atmosphere, beautiful views off deck and delicious food. We are happy we went to Harpers Ferry.
