I have stayed at The Red Lion some years back. This time I was very pleased to see that the interior decoration had been updated. The room I had was very pleasantly decorated with William Morris wallpaper. The breakfast and restaurant and restaurant area had had a facelift too. Definitely an improvement from what it looked like previously. The staff members at reception were very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. Thank you.

solo stay
The staff were helpful at check-in. I had a double room. The bed was comfortable. Each guest got a biscuit and square of chocolate. There was a selection of teas, coffee bags and hot chocolate. There was an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe. The room was very warm. There was an issue with the cleaning. There was hair in the bath and the wall mirror in the bedroom was dirty. The curtains were dirty. I used the pedal bin in the bathroom and the lid fell off missing my foot. The pedal bin lid was broken. The white towels were thick and clean, but one of my towels was torn. There was ample parking. The room was very quiet. There was a little noise with returning guests but no external traffic noise.

Plesent accommodation
Room and bathroom isvery nice, as is the pub, it also has a decent menu. The bed was quite hard, but then many hotel beds do tend to be on the harder side.
Complementary biscuits, chocolate and drinks were a nice added touch.
Customer service was okay but could have been a bit more friendly. We took our dinner back to the room, t would have been nice if it could have bleed delivered though. Overall a nice stay

The staff was amazing! The restaurant has a nice rounded menu and all the dishes i tried were excellent! Easy to acess the property itself and close to the motorways
