That was the worst hotel I have ever been in my life. It is hard to express so much disappointment in text. To start, it looked like a horror movie from the 70s. The design was horrible, the musics were also terrible. The elevator barely worked (and we were on the 10th floor). When it worked, we had to run in it, because the sensors did not work and the door closed on the people. The shower was terrible, washing the hair took forever. The breakfast was so bad that I don´t even know how to describe. Have you ever seen a place where you have to pay extra for scramble eggs? I had never seen it before. Crossing the street, it was a nightclub, so loud that we could barely sleep, and I do not even want to think about the kind of people who went there, because the taxi drive said for us to don´t dare going there, and one day we even saw blood outside, on the hotel´s side of the street. The staff was kind, which made me feel bad for them having to work there. Pet friendly, but costed 10 Euro per day to have the dog there. Make yourself a favor and find another hotel!

Booking for 5 nights but my kids wanted to leave after a day. To far from the River. Hotel didn't bother and bothered to stop and the rest sent them back. Location is good. Free parking. Friendly staff And above all a very good restaurant on the top floor. The breakfast was simple en end at 10 am.

Everything is bad - such a hotel should be banned from operating. The facility is tragic, indescribably outdated, the breakfast is extremely poor, the location is completely bad - communication with the center is difficult, the hotel environment is terrible. The building itself is a multi-story shabby residential building, only the upper floors of which are the so-called hotel. I really don't understand how such monstrosity is allowed to operate.

You don’t need an airplane to view the city from above. Above the seagulls, above the pigeons, even above the swallows. You don’t need a time machine to experience the classic look of the 1950’s — wood paneling, leather chairs, classic tiles, granite, wall tapestries, pink porcelain bathrooms, real door keys. Quiet, calm, charming. This was my 3rd hotel in Porto, my shortest stay, but the most memorable. Even better views at the light breakfast on the 13th floor. Don’t try for perfect, just love the experience.

I guess when on budget, compromises are inevitable. But... One lift in repairs, the other very slow and shared with tennants of building. Fridge in the room locked since pandemic. Hot water in bath probably takes the lift up cause it took freezing ages to arrive. Breakfast very very basic and from portuguese folk i'd expect better coffee. The title i chose is because if you saw the film, the room in which the released old convict hangs himself is similar to the room i received.

24-25/6/22 Friday night We three British middle aged guys were touring Portugal by public transport for ten days. We booked this hotel the day before in Braga as we were heading south and the Sao Poão festival has pushed prices up significantly in the centre so we were only able to get this hotel on the edge. We knew it was going to be uphill from Sao Bento station. We arrived at the station at 3pm on the Friday and decided to walk in the heat with our cabin baggage/rucksacks to see some of the sights on the way and avoid public transport system of having to buy cards as we were only staying one night. It was a steep walk for half an hour! Maybe a taxi would have been better? After overshooting the building and seeing some interesting street art we returned slightly downhill to find the ramp up to the hotel tower block (we had not checked out images beforehand). On entering the plain first lobby we checked in with the young polite and friendly man. He then asked us to go into the main lobby. Wow! Throwback to the 70s time! This place is a treasure! We checked in and were told the left hand lift goes up to the top floors where the hotel was. The rest were all residential. Our room was 1007 and up we went in the retro ‘fast’ lift to the Bond Lair! On finding our room, in we went to find a magnificent large dual aspect room with huge windows overlooking the city below and the water towers above on the same sort of level. Three single beds (two joined as a double), clean linen, two armchairs, coffee table, desk with chair and bedside tables. The room was immaculate and 70s! All original but the LED TV (such a pity!). We never tested the TV, the safe, antique hair dryer! The wooden shirt/jacket stand was impressive too. Two sides had distant see views, very impressive! The original A/C worked fine considering there were two huge windows letting in the sun. The built in plywood veneered cupboard had seven coathangers and spare blankets. The only drawback I seem to remember is the lack of power sockets, being the 70s few were required. As I always bring extension leads and multi adapters (even within my 5kg backpack allowance) we survived charging our devices. The minibar fridge was locked but fortunately we had our own supply of wine to toast to the view with! The bathroom was similarly retro, original and the window was the only openable one in the rooms. In the morning we had a proper bath for once! Do not listen to those who complain about dated this and old that. This is run as a museum and respect is required! The hotel was well worth the long walk uphill!! We had to leave to see friends but on our return we settled down and slept well, undisturbed to wake relatively early for the included breakfast in the top floor. The lift was the only way up (we found the stairs led to the kitchen) so we ventured up to find again a retro 70s triple aspect restaurant. Pity it did not spin! We three managed to find a big corner table and took in t

The place is definitely worth a visit for its architecture and vintage 70s decor. The electrical installations are very basic and not very reassuring. There was a spark when I charged my phone. The bar closes very early for a hotel. The staff is welcoming and accommodating on the other hand.

Don’t ever come to this hotel. Their workers steal from the rooms and the hotel does not assume the responsibility
