We were there during summer but this is probably primarily a winter resort. The rooms were clean and the front desk staff was friendly. Highlights: The spa manager (a gentleman with white hair) was such a lovely person. Someone who you can tell right away is kind and caring. He didn’t speak English but showed me around all the features of the spa (there are many areas, sauna, steam, Turkish type steams etc etc.) He offered me tea and when I declined, he brought me water. He had really amazing healing type energy and it was lovely to have met him. There is a trail that leads to the forest from the hotel. Definitely take that walk. They have some neat wooden carvings of animals and a huge giant’s type table with chairs in the forest. They hold weddings around that forest area and it looks like a forest fairy-land. The exterior of the hotel has a nice alpine look. I think it is situated pretty near one of the ski lifts for the area also and I’m sure the hotel looks magical in winter. Low points: The rooms we booked was listed as a two-bedroom family suite. The problem was that it was one bedroom with a king size type bed and a living room with a sofa bed, not two actual bedrooms. The sofa bed was wide enough for two kids but not the most comfortable. The bedroom only had high clerestory windows with no way to actually look out and that doesn’t give a room a good feeling. Luckily that bedroom did have air conditioning which you do need in the summer. The living room did not have AC but did have a window, alas without a screen. The mountain air at night is fine but you do need a screen with mosquitos. The bathroom is sort of standard for that era of Bulgarian hotel - so it was fine but not great. It did have a bidet which is always nice. It did have a small step up in the middle which you had to remember so that you didn’t trip. Breakfast was pretty dismal. At many of these hotels, it’s as if they need to check off a series of items to keep a certain listing of type of hotel, but checking off that you have an item instead of just having a few items that are more edible and taste good are not the same thing. I ended up mostly eating just the toast with jam. Everything else seemed suspect. Even the coffee was tough to deal with. I know many of the hotels recycle items from dinner or from breakfast from the days before and am used to that, but this one lacked much of anything that was quality. One day they had a homemade cake (kind of a coffee cake) and that was good. This probably wouldn’t be our first choice of a place to stay again but maybe it offers an advantage location-wise if you are skiing and there was the really good spa with the gracious gentleman running it. The dinner we had was good albeit quite expensive and with small portions so that restaurant is ok. The breakfast is served on the second floor in a low ceilinged space. There is a patio but that’s where the smokers go.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff are clearly committed to their roles and work very long shifts and all of them make your stay very pleasant. We stayed in finish chalets. one had a sauna the other didn’t. they were nice and spacious with two rooms to sleep and a front room and where next door to each other. Before arriving I was emailing the front desk and they answered all of my questions so upon arriving we knew what to expect. the bar area is nice to have a drink before you go out for dinner there’s a log fire which we sat around each evening. We enjoyed the spa. There are four steam rooms and an okay size pool, treatments available if you want them. We didn’t visit the club or the games room breakfast was what you would expect. My only critical feedback was food that should be hot wasn’t but asking to get it re-heated was not a problem. The resort is ski in and ski out you can ski around the corner to get the lift passes. On site is equipment hire which is reasonably priced and the staff there are great. There is also a ski school and one of our party had two mornings with George. One thing I will say is the hotel has its own ski area and there is also skiing in Borowitz which is where the town is. on day one we were confused but you don’t have to take a taxi to the town ask at reception or the ski school and they will give you a paper map that shows you the route to ski from the hotel, Take the gondola up the mountain and ski over to the other part. The snow was magnificent and we had temperatures of -17. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Ideally placed next to the slopes in the forest to stop of a drink or lunch but really spoilt by loud music blasting out - why do these places do it. I am sure that the music is not for the customers - more likely the staff. You would be better going along another 2/300 m to the Finish Line which is also in a lovely position and no loud music to spoilt the atmosphere

Winter holidays with children. Only negative. Lots of people, and zero adjustments. The sauna is open until 9 o'clock and of course after skiing it is packed, and after dinner it is closed. The pool and sauna close early. The hotel is on the mountain and THERE IS JUST NOWHERE TO EAT The room service closes BEFORE 22.00 Teenagers, children who do not go to bed early, there is simply nowhere to eat. NOWHERE A hotel with a high price??

A really lovely place to stay. Right on the slopes, so a proper ski-in, ski-out hotel. We stayed in one of the Finnish chalets, which are gorgeous. The pool and spa area is fabulous. Great food, a lovely bar, and charming staff. We will be back!

As a family of 5 we just came back from holidays. As we checked in, staff hasn't explained anything properly, wasn't very friendly. We stayed in the chalet which was good and clean. At the breakfast restaurant, no one is smiling, every staff is very grumpy. We had a feeling that we need to leave breakfast ASAP. Even kids have noticed that feeling. In the evening for the dinner, no one has welcomed us, just walk in and sit where you can, staff wouldn't care to move towards us. NO ONE UNDERSTANDS ENGLISH. Few times they have brought wrong food orders. But we didn't know what to do as there is no one could communicate with us. They have brought 2 days in a row not cooked at all burger meat for our kids, and we're not happy with our opinion. They assume it's the way meat supposed to be done. Bar staff wouldn't acknowledge you at all. Not even when we were passing by infront of them. Not a welcomed feeling. Once our daughter has been kicked out from the kids play room because she cough couple of times. As one parent wasn't happy for his son to be in the same room with ill person. SO STUPID. Our daughter hasn't even played there once. The lifeguard at the swimming pool wasn't doing anything at all, just relaxing on the sunbed and drinking tea all the time. I wounder why there was never tea available for the clients. When we checked out, they made us pay for our 5 years old daughter stay. No where in the world you have to pay for that age. WE WOULD NEVER COME BACK TO THAT HOTEL AGAIN. MANAGEMENT SEEMS LIKE DON'T CARE WHAT IS HAPPENING . VERY RUDE STAFF. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE.

We stopped off here to eat after skiing down Yastrabets 3, the food was great and it had a great atmosphere. I’d definitely go back if we were in Borovets again. It was awesome being able to see the slope and the club sandwich was delicious and huge!

Stayed in one of their chalets, great experience. We had the one with a sauna and it was very relaxing. The room was large enough and enjoyed the upstairs and downstairs layout. Sat out on he patio each night and it was very quiet. The staff was very good and the food was excellent. Enjoyed their brunch on the patio enjoying the view.
