Absolutely rubbish hotel with rude and impolite staff who did lots of harassment for homeless people who settled by council .They put out of date breakfast stuff for homeless people and homeless people couldn't said anything because of their situation and staff of hotel were abusing their power to homeless people and there is no one to support them

When you see that other reviews have given a possible 3 out of 5 stars I wonder how… fake reviews? Possible previous owners? So I will give an honest opinion and review here. I’m a Dad (57) with two daughters (both early 20s) and we came down for a football match and catch up with family. We checked in midday and instantly got room access, great so far…the receptionist then told us our room wasn’t now available and we had been ‘upgraded’ , basically an extra bed, so now instead of 3 single beds we now had 2 singles and one double….. great!! The lift to the 5th floor didn’t work (no notice saying so either) so a struggle for me and my knees. Key in the Yale lock (not the safest) worked and we went in… and then that’s when it hit us. This room was literally uninhabitable, please see the pictures. What you can’t tell from some of the pictures exactly how dirty it was. I couldn’t take a photo of the smell , so believe me when I tell you it smelled like a ‘dirty persons house ‘. Couldn’t leave the window open as seagulls may have come in as there was a handy ledge for them right outside the window. Not even the dirty net curtains would have lol. I couldn’t even bare to see what was under the sheets and ended up sleeping clothes and on top of the covers. My daughters reluctantly slept in the beds. All through the night people wandered up and down the stairs and landings and didn’t seem to grasp about keeping ‘it down’ late at night. To top it off , a marathon sex session in room 45 started at 4am and went on until 6am when we had to leave. God knows what this hotel is being used for. Prior to going to bed that night I informed the lad on the desk what a disgrace our room was, said he couldn’t do anything about it as he was ‘just an employee’ ….. what!? On checkout once again said to another employee who couldn’t have given two , you know what’s ! Usually I would have demanded a room change on check in, but we had a very long journey and had to meet relatives soon after. To be perfectly honest health inspectors need to look into this establishment urgently. Book this stay at your own risk.

This hotel was absolutely horrendous, disgusting, dirty and unsafe. We arrived myself, my sister and three children under 5 and given a room at the top of the building, we could barely fit the buggy into the lift but managed, we got upstairs to our room which didn’t have the required amount of beds we had paid for, the fire alarm was hanging off the ceiling, there was water damage and damp, there was no handle to our bathroom door so my children could have been locked in. The beds were ripped, the carpet stained and damaged. We were offered to be moved however would need to “split the party” however they didn’t even have suitable rooms for this to happen. When looking for an alternative I was taken downstairs so inaccessible with the buggy to a corridor with no light and the room they offer me was dirty and had items in it and the door had a faulty lock so wouldn’t open and the gentleman snapped the key into the lock of the door trying to force it open whilst telling me it was safe. The next room smelt like a public toilet, the next didn’t have enough beds. We ended up in a room with two beds for 5 of us, with a mouldy dirty shower we were too cautious to even use, no refund despite several time requesting and no apologise.

The worst, dirtiest place we ever been in our life. We couldn't even imagine that place like this could exist! Disgusting! The sheets were dirty ,the carpet and the fabric chair in the room were all in dirty oily stains ,soon after we have opened the window we were all completely covered in dust through the curtains and awful urine smell came through the window in to the room . The sink were covered with dirty drops from old toothpaste used before us .I really couldn't imagine that place like this exists nowadays. We just left shortly after we checked in without speaking or asking or looking for manager ,cos the all place looked awful, so we had ended up paying for another hotel to do not ruin our holiday !Avoid in any price !

This was quite possibly the most revolting hotel I’ve ever had the displeasure to walk into. We were “upgraded” to a family room which featured an extra single bed. The stench was revolting as soon as we walked into room 13. The carpet was filthy, the chair looked like someone had died on it, the bathroom was completely unusable. Quickly decided this wasn’t suitable and booked a room at another hotel, Ballincourt, which was beautiful and only £40 more than what we paid to stay here. AVOID THIS HELL HOLE! It needs closing down.

I was looking forward to my 3 night stay but I was so disappointed. Although the staff were very helpful I felt that it was just a room with nothing else. Bar was closed. Breakfast is not available out of season although it does not say that on their website. There was no house keeper Lift out of order, problems with electrics, plug and shower. It's very tired looking and really needs a bit of TLC

I stayed at the ullswater hotel for 2 nights from 2/10-4/10/22 and WOW I was impressed the check in was good and quick the service was amazing and very good hospitality the room was spacious with a nice big bed and cosy duvet the pillows were a bit soft for me and the mattress was lumpy the bathroom was good the bar was good and reasonably priced I didn’t get breakfast so can’t comment on that overall for the price I paid it was a good stay and I will be staying again

After being awoken by a 2AM!!! unearthly disturbance outside my hotel room door. The owner offered a one night refund via ***********. *********** disregarded the hotel owner refund by quoting: "no compensation could be provided" Such shame that *********** reaps their percentage at the expense of this honourable Hotel owner - who was responsive & respectful to HIS guests

Cannot fault this hotel. Have stayed here now several times and would always use them as my 1st choice if I can. Have only had an issue once and within 10 mins one of the staff had come and swapped me to another room. Perfect location for the cliff top and the beach. Also less than 10 minutes to the pier and town centre. Rooms aren't huge but bathrooms are spit on, the beds are comfortable and the room has everything you need.
