In 1915 my grandparents, John and Matilda, bought this property, built a house and raised their three children. The first house burnt down and the community rallied around them and together they built the second house. They also build a cabin and rented it out during the summer months (one of the first vacation rentals) to local fishermen that came to Hansville which was widely known as a popular salmon fishing area. The property stayed in the family and the house was expanded and renovated. In 2003 an expansive addition was built and the original house extensively renovated to what you see now.
