We only use non-toxic cleaners and detergents (by Shaklee) and we provide Backpack Beach Chairs w/ built in coolers for your enjoyment, and a couple Beach Cruiser bikes too! (sorry, no pets please). We've been SO blessed with wonderful guests who seem very appreciative for our KHBB, our quiet neighborhood nearby wonderful Beach accesses, our central location for many OBX attractions, and all the amazing restaurants too! Oh, and you'll love strolling or biking down to see our stunning sunsets at nearby Windgrass Sound access....never gets old. The WIE House - Pod Zeus is a 324 sq. ft. combination of mostly re-purposed wood from several houses, that have been torn down to make room for bigger beach houses has a fantastic beachy feel to it, and though it has a small foot print the space is anything but small, and a fireplace to take the chill off.The WIE Village is SO very unique it made it into the 2016 OBX Parade of Homes...learn more about the amenities and layouts by Googling "Parade of Homes OBX 2016" and go to House #11 !Look forward to having you to one of the most unique properties you will ever stay in!!!!Guest accessYou will have the whole Pod to yourself, and your guests! Below is the story behind the WIE Village !With green building in mind, we look to reuse and re-purpose materials that are left over from building large homes to create The WIE House. The first WIE House location is in an environmentally critical area, The Outer Banks (OBX) of North Carolina.This concept is not unique to the OBX, as we would like to see it grow to any location where there are leftover materials on the job-site. Whether it be a remodel job or new construction, the benefits to this project are the use of leftover building materials, resulting in less forest destruction, filling of landfills, all while cutting expenses for all involved!The WIE House is small in physical size, but big in quality of living. Comfortable home-feel type large modern studio apartment with high ceilling. Second floor, no elevator. Private space and separate entry. Enjoy the quiet space, gorgeous sunset view, and beautiful landscape, and smell the roses (during the season.) Listen to the birds, and smell the salty air and relaxing. Cozy large bedroom, large bathroom, and walk-in closet. Smart TV with Netflix access. Small fridge with freezer, microwave, and coffee maker. No kitchen. Plates, cups, glasses, and silverware are included. Paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap, coffee filters, and sugar. There are linens for the bed and one set of bath towels but please bring your own beach towels.We have one double bike, three regular bikes, a kayak for two people, and a stand-up paddleboard. These are shared among guests from two other apartments. We don't have direct access to the water. However, we're a two-minute walk to the Albemarle Sound access, and a boardwalk makes it perfect for a sunset stroll. We're about a ten-minute walk to the ocean. There's a distant view of the ocean from the bathroom and closet windows Bedroom faces the sound but the water view is blocked by trees. Please note that the studio is located on the 2nd floor via outdoor stairs.
