2-Star Hotels in Braga

Avoid at allllll costssssss. First of all, everything seemed really good, the room was a decent size, the bed was big enough for 2 people, although if you like to sleep in a hard mattress where when you wake up you feel like you went to war? Well their beds are the best for you then, the pillows makes your neck be in pain when you wake up of how flat they are. Also, I was there for 5 nights, and believe it or not, it was 2 people, we started with 3 toilet rolls, which we barely use on the first day, we arrived at the hotel around 3pm, went to do some quick shopping of snacks and drinks which you can easily do around you, and then we went to find a restaurant and eat and etc, so we barely used any toilet paper, the next day after the housekeeper was there, we realised from 3 toilet rolls, we only had 2, which we were confused because we had 3, but oh well. So we spent the all day in the hotel, and the toilet paper is really thin and not big, probably as big as half a toilet paper, either way, they did not leave any more toilet paper, throughout the 5 nights we were there, which is ridiculous because we either asked or bought some ourselves, which is ridiculous having to spend money on toilet paper that should be provided by the hotel. I think it was really bad, but if that is not enough to keep you away, then go ahead and book a room to one of the worst hotels in the area I would say.

Easily a 3* hotel! We looked at this hotel as we were having our wedding in Braga and wanted to provide a budget option for guests. It was so brilliant that we ended up staying there on our second visit to the city. The only reason they don’t have three stars is because they don’t have space for a third set of lifts. Ignoring that, this hotel and the rooms are clean, comfortable with modern decoration and all the basic amenities you need for a quick stay. They offered a continental breakfast which was more than enough to get the day started and also have a restaurant/bar with a solid set of variety - large portions, tasty food with low prices. When enquiring about block bookings or info re. The hotel, they were very responsive and informative. Location wise, it is right next to the station/taxi rank and about 7mins walk into the city centre so very convenient. Definitely recommend for those something cheap and cheerful for a city break!

[To Accor members] Am not sure if Mercure in the same city is a better choice if you are as me a loyal Accor members unfortunately. As a diamond member, I have my stay here during weekend. Luckily I asked before having breakfast as I’m told that I don’t have my complimentary breakfast, not here in Braga for anyone! As checked in the Accor page, this Braga Ibis is indifferent and shall offer the same as all other participating Accor hotels. Be disappointed by the welcome drink and the missing “welcome gift”. Not even a bottled water / muffin / so…. [To everyone] I guess we like to choose Ibis because of the reliability of the standard and quality versus the price. Here in Braga Ibis Centro, be surprised. Refer to my photo attached and find yourself in a room with mould. It’s not always easy to communicate to the staff for a change of room especially it’s already late. I’m sure there are quite a lot of other alternatives around. The decor is definitely outdated. Very unfriendly socket locations and so on…as you can expect from a hotel in the 90s. BTW, It’s not at a particularly quiet location.

We prefer breakfast at the beginning of the trip, which is why we do not use the hotel service, but the friendlyness and sympathy of the staff really impressed us, far beyond our expectations. I congratulate the dedicated team we found there and openly recommend the hotel to all who want to feel treated as if they were old known.

Unfortunately, they have not only a better assessment because they have to deliver the key every time I got out, but worse because last night I was about half an hour playing the campanile to open my door. When I approached your collaborator and asked if everything was okay, she answered ”yes, why shouldn't I be?” to which I answered that I was about half an hour to play the campanile and even called the reception, but the person lifted the He cut his shoulders and laughed. If the answer is 24/7, a request for excuse would have been enough. The room was spacious, with a dressing, but unfortunately heard a lot of noise, and the gardens were not clear, though they were opaque.

From the arrival to the exit, the reception staff were 5 stars. Always very nice, very nice. Always ready to help. The cleaning of the 5-star room. If you're back the braga, I'll stay in this hotel. Thank you for your availability and sympathy 😀

We stayed 3 nights in this delightful hotel as our base for exploring the region. The top floor suites look bigger in the online photos than they actually are, yet the room was comfy and we loved hearing the bells chime. Please be aware that the elevator is narrow. The breakfast is the usual fare of yogurt, cheeses, breads, and fruits. Our western-facing windows permitted us to see the sunset over the Arco da Porta Nova. Located at one end of the main shopping street, we had lots of options of cafes and restaurants as we strolled towards the central square area. It is also directly across from a small bakery cafe. Being a university town, we arrived just as new students were being initiated into their academic units and marching around in colorful groups singing songs until 4am, Since we had a rental car, going to Peneda Geres naitonal park was an easy drive and we enjoyed hiking and then returning to the hotel. The hotel recommends the Park Center (R. Cardoso Avelino 25, 4700-219) which is a short (10 minute) easy walk slightly uphill to the hotel. In October, the Park Center was mostly empty and quick to get in and out.
