The boss is very down-to-earth and helped me get free parking at the company's parking lot in the backyard on the APP. The room is on the second floor and you can see a large supermarket not far away. The house is fully equipped, neat and clean. All in all, it is a hotel with good value for money.

This “hotel” wasn’t worth the £54 per night that they charge. The stairs and all carpets are stained and dirty. The bathroom had no shelf or mirror. The mirror was located behind the room door but quite high up so no use for anything - although the bedding was clean the bed was very hard and pillows were like concrete lumps. The room was freezing and when I mentioned this I was told that their guests were usually out during the day and heating was not needed at night when people are sleeping!! The bar area is also very tired with scuffed stained chairs. This place has nothing positive that can be said about it. The best advice I can give is - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

Most shocking hotel I have stayed in for decades. Hard Bed, Dirty windows, bare just plastered walls, Noisy when people are walking past your room and cleanliness really poor. just glad to get out of here and clean myself. Didn't complain as this was the only room in Haverhill that night unless I wanted to travel 15 miles which I wish I would have done. Good Points it had Electric & Water

Absolutely dreadful place. Needs closing down. The bar isn’t even inviting! Rooms are dreadful. They are dated & run down. If you’re lucky enough, you’ll be able to stay in a room where where the extractor fans from the Indian restaurant blows all the smells Into your room!

Clean , but very tired room. Room 8 has an old window with mould. The walls and ceiling needs painting. The bed was clean but like concrete to sleep on. Had a kettle covered in dust and had to move the bedside table to use it as no PowerPoint near to it. Curtains smelt of smoking. On booking in, the gentleman was wearing a discoloured vest , not a professional look. Very drab upstairs. Mattress leaned in the hallway and was on the floor on our return and had to climb over it to get in the room. It's more of a seedy, HMO than hotel.

We have stayed at the rose and crown for over 8 years and at the time Keith owned and ran it, although it’s an old pub it was well ran and clean, just over a year ago he sold it to someone else we carried on staying there because it is near to my sons house so convenient. We visited again this weekend and it was horrendous the first room they offered us was dirty with paper and poo in the toilet so he moved us to another room that was ok!!! The next evening he said he had to move us to another room as someone needed the one we were in- 3 rooms in 2 days totally un exceptable, to make matters worse when we paid he didn’t deduct the deposit of £50. On the plus side the bar staff, Annabelle and Keith are amazing.

Awful! Bed was like concrete. No hot water in taps or shower.. Bathroom door did not shut and no lock. Nightclub next door loud til 1am.. had no sleep at all.. curtains were old brown heavy, covered in paint. AVOID Room 1 at all costs (honeymoon room what a joke!) we did not see any other rooms but we Will not be returning or booking a stay here again..
