Pros: Professional and kind desk people! Easy access off I-85. Clean and newly remodeled spaces. Nice and quiet, even in the room near an elevator. The room was darker than many hotel rooms. Better-than-standard Marriot Springhill breakfast—oh, the blueberry scones! Clean workout room and pool. Cons: Outside seating adjacent to breakfast area smelled like a dead animal (and the dumpsters were not there). The ice machine in the fifth floor was empty, broken, or both. They have a Starbucks counter BUT it was not manned, even on a weekend with a Mustang conference staying there. Biggest drawback: The room rate jumped precipitously on the weekend. For such an exorbitant amount, I think we could have stayed at place with some outdoor living (trails to walk, etc) like the Hampton Inn at Chateau Elan. But we were just following recommendations on a wedding invitation, and we didn’t know the area.
