Botel Gracia

Breakfast was very poor. Empty in 9 h.

I give this 5* for the following reasons: The location, it’s ideal for exploring the city. We were there for the Christmas markets and it was perfect for this. Lovely to wake up to the Bratislavan sunrise on the Danube. Breakfasts were more than ample. Hot and cold buffet, everything perfectly lovely. The rooms had what we needed: they were small, basic, but they were value for money. They’re not pretending to be luxury. The bar was ideal to relax in after a day’s exploring. Again, the views helped but the staff were friendly and prices reasonable.

I had only one day in Bratislava and was looking just for a place to sleep and get a decent breakfast before heading out. I also wanted something a little unique and I got exactly that with Botel Gracia. The check in person was friendly but be forewarned they do not take American Express. I, and he, did not know this but after he called his manager we switched to Visa card, so make sure you have another form of payment than Amex. The hotel is on a decommissioned boat. It has a certain "charm" - is quite basic and old fashioned interior. The room key is huge - the room was small, bathroom tiny but you had the basics. It was fine for one night but I definitely would not have been comfortable staying longer. I was exhausted so fell asleep pretty quickly, though the pillows were big uncomfortable foam your head bounces off and the "mattress" is a couple of inches on a wood platform. If you are really tired, you'll sleep - if you need soft comfortable bed and pillows, not so much! The view was really nice. I awoke at sunrise as the curtains were really thin - I prefer blackout ones. Breakfast on the upper deck was nice - had usual suspects. eggs and bacon, coffee, etc. Was certainly adequate and had what you need. All in all this was a fun one night stay, the location was good and if you are looking for something a bit different and you are not expecting luxury, this is a fun place to try.

Review of Botel Gracia Bratislava Slovakia thurs 21.12.23. Simona, also known as Simi at the reception, was very helpful and friendly. We stayed in Room 209 with a Danube River View and a private bathroom with a shower. Use tram no.1 from the main station hlavna to reach the hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. No coffee or safe facilities. Heating is prevalent to warm up in winter. Breakfast is delicious with a variety of choices. There is spa massages available. There is a bar on the top level of the botel. Dakujem means thank you in the Bratislava language.

This is the 2nd time I have stayed here, so I knew what to expect. I wasn't disappointed. A comfortable cabin, friendly staff, great location, and a lovely breakfast. The bar is good for a pleasant drink in the evening. Recommended.
