Wonderful, affordable hotel close to downtown and the castle! Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Also very convenient with plenty of parking directly in front of the hotel. I enjoyed my stay from start to finish.

This venerable hotel made good use of the pandemic induced lockdown and is in the process (almost complete) of a thorough renovation and refurbishment. The rooms have been thoroughly renovated and been given new furniture, and including new curtains. Same holds true for the bathrooms which are much improved. Each room is equipped with a new TV screen and free WiFi works throughout the hotel. Larger and brighter now is the breakfast area and in addition they have added a terrace (on top of the former Yugoslavian restaurant which has, sadly, not survived the pandemic) which is accessible both from the street and from the breakfast area where throughout the day coffees and juices are available (it works by an honor system where you write down your consumption and drop it in the provided basket. I‘m glad to report that the quality of the breakfast buffet has not suffered Vegas even improved.

Erstklassige Adresse direkt an Marktplatz und Schloss. Freundlicher Empfang, kurze Bekanntmachung mit den wichtigsten Räumlichkeiten, Bezug des hübschen Zimmers. Das Auto steht auf einem reservierten Parkplatz, schon geht es in den offensichtlich recht neuen Spa-Bereich. Selten in einem Hotel vergleichbarer Größenordnung einen liebevoller und zweckmäßiger eingerichteten Wellness-Bereich erlebt. Abends steht ein großer Aufenthaltsbereich ohne Service zur Verfügung. Alle gängigen Getränke können Hotelgäste von Bar und Kühlschrank entnehmen - einfach aufschreiben und später bezahlen. Frühstücksangebot überdurchschnittlich, der Raum rappelvoll.

Prachtig gelegen aan het oude centrum van Braunfels met mooi zicht op het kasteel. Van buitenaf likkt het ook op de andere oude gebouwen maar binnen is het al mooi modern gerenoveerd. Nog niet alle kamers zijn af, maar ik en mijn vrouw hadden meer geluk dan de kinderen. We hadden 4 kamers geboekt. Toevallig ben ik daar kledij vergeten in de kast en nu doet de helpdesk alle moeite om mijn kledij terug te sturen.

Das Hotel ist zentral gelegen und alles in allem wirklich OK. Man sollte jetzt nicht ein 5* Haus erwarten, sondern ein sauberes nettes kleines Hotel, mit sehr freundlichen, fast familiären Mitarbeitern und einen guten, reichhaltigen Frühstück. Es gibt Parkplätze direkt vorm Haus und auch im Ort. So weit so gut. Was wir weniger schön fanden ist die Tatsache, dass es keine Halbpension wie ursprünglich gebucht gab, sondern nur Frühstück, was allerdings bei ReiseAktuell nur ziemlich klein vermerkt war. Der Reisepreis wurde aber entsprechend korrigiert, soweit auch noch OK. Allerdings handelt es sich um einen Reha Ort und ausser dem Pizza Lieferservice einen Tisch zu ergattern gestaltete sich ziemlich schwierig. Ziemlich übel aufgestoßen ist uns dann allerdings, dass die Sauna auch defekt war, sodass unser Wellnessurlaub sich damit erledigte. Erstens hätte man uns das mitteilen müssen, da es ein wesentlicher Bestandteil des Vertrages ist und zweitens uns entsprechend entschädigen können. Beides war leider nicht der Fall. Schade!
