George Town Hotels with Breakfast

This hotel is still relatively new, and one of its unique features is that it occupies two separate buildings facing each other, rather than having all the rooms in a single building. One building contains the café, where breakfast is served, along with about eight guest rooms, while the other building is used exclusively for guest rooms and rises to three floors (or about two and a half floors). As noted by other guest reviews, there is no elevator. The wooden staircase is quite steep, so if you are travelling with large suitcases, the hotel recommends asking a staff member to help carry your luggage. The room was clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. Some hotel amenities are not listed on Trip.com information, so you may need to contact the hotel directly for more detailed information. However, their responses are not always prompt. There were also a few inconsistencies between the information provided by Trip.com and the hotel. One example, Trip.com advises guests to notify the hotel one or two days before arrival if they require services such as early check-in, but the hotel did not provide any guidance regarding this. Most of the information guests need is only explained by the staff upon arrival. Breakfast is served from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, which is different from the schedule at most hotels. Although the menu is limited, the food is delicious and the portions are satisfying. Guests often wait in the café while their rooms are being prepared. If you need any additional room amenities or supplies, simply ask the hotel staff. They will show you a list of available items and provide whatever you request. Overall, this is a comfortable, clean, and modern hotel that offers excellent value for money. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Melmond Maison Hotel, and I especially appreciated the kindness and friendliness of the staff, particularly Sohanur Rohman, who was exceptionally helpful throughout my stay. He truly served the guests wholeheartedly. One suggestion is, since there is only one chair that is for the dressing table, maybe the hotel can provide a backrest chair, so that guests who need to use the table for a fairly long period of time can lean back comfortably and avoid shoulder pain. I had an excellent stay at G Hotel Gurney in the Executive Suite. The suite was spacious, modern, and beautifully maintained, with a comfortable bed and a great view. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Penang. The hotel’s location is fantastic, right next to Gurney Plaza and within walking distance of many popular eateries. The staff were professional, friendly, and always willing to assist, making the entire stay even more enjoyable. The Executive Lounge was a great addition, offering a quiet and comfortable space to unwind with complimentary refreshments. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide selection of local and international dishes. Overall, everything from the room quality to the service exceeded my expectations. I would definitely choose G Hotel Gurney again on my next visit to Penang and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and luxurious stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at Capri by Fraser, Penang! 🥰 The hotel is new, modern, and spotlessly clean. The room was so comfortable, and the location was perfect.  The staffs are genuinely warm, friendly, and always greeted us with the biggest smiles. They went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed, making us feel so welcomed and well taken care of throughout our stay. To everyone at Capri by Fraser, Penang, thank you for your kindness and wonderful hospitality. Highly recommend! ❤️

The entire hotel features British colonial-style architecture, with very spacious and well-designed rooms. However, the service was perfunctory. During my three-day stay, despite frequent comings and goings, the doormen were rarely at the entrance. Even when they were, they generally didn't bother to open the door and looked expressionless. I believe this falls short of the service standards expected from a hotel of this price point. The turndown service was also a disaster; the duvet was wrinkled, the slippers weren't properly placed, and my charging cable was simply tossed onto the bed. Housekeeping was also very poor. On the second day, the toothbrush wasn't neatly arranged but rather haphazardly placed on the vanity. However, the housekeeping staff on the third day did a proper job of organizing the countertop. The toothbrush provided was a cheap, hard, brittle plastic one, typical of a budget guesthouse, and very unpleasant to use. Other amenities were acceptable. Overall, the hotel's biggest selling points are likely its scenery, historical significance, and location. Don't expect much from the service.

Location: Convenient and central, near to eateries and 1st avenue shopping centre. For other, you need to Grab out. Grab is easy to anywhere. Staff: Friendly and approachable, able to provide advices when asked. Room: Reasonable size, however, I would love to have better lightings. Toilet comes with basic toiletries.

This hotel is centrally located in George Town, named after the city's famous architecture. Many tourists stop by to take photos at its entrance. It's not far from major attractions and must-try eateries. The facilities are new, hygiene is excellent, and the rooms are spacious. The pool design is unique. The staff are enthusiastic, and the hotel also does a great job showcasing and introducing the city's history and Peranakan culture. Highly recommended!

The hotel lobby on the 20th floor offers a stunning view of the distant sea, which is incredibly beautiful. On the 22nd floor, you can relax and unwind by the pool, and the breakfast on the 21st floor is also great, with two large, fully automatic coffee machines. The room facilities are also quite good.

Excellent! The location is superb, just a few minutes' walk to the Blue House. The hotel's design and ambiance are simply beautiful. It felt less like staying in a hotel and more like being a guest in the home of someone with great taste and an appreciation for art. The front desk service was also very good – friendly and they spoke Chinese. Although breakfast was simple, it tasted great. As the last stop on our trip, it truly felt like a well-deserved treat.

Stayed for one night in the 2-bedroom duplex. The room looked clean at first, but the cleanliness could be improved. There was quite a lot of dust under the bed and on the curtains. The kitchen sink and drain had some stains and looked like they were not cleaned properly. The bathroom also looked a bit old and wasn’t very clean. Since it’s a 2-bedroom duplex, it would be better to have two bathrooms instead of just one. There was also very little space around the bathroom sink to put toiletries. The clothes rack was loose and kept falling off whenever we hung clothes on it. The upstairs bedroom door caught on the carpet every time it was opened, causing the carpet to lift up. This should be repaired as it could be a safety hazard. Other than these, the room was spacious and the stay was okay. Better cleaning and maintenance would definitely improve the overall experience.

The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but it was delicious and the dishes changed daily, which was a nice touch! 👍🏻 It's also close to Chew Jetty, and the food in Little India is great. It's a fantastic spot for those who prefer peace and quiet.
