The Castle Hotel ★★★

📍 Bronllys Rd, Talgarth, Brecon

"It was a very pleasant hotel, nice and quiet when I visited but it is the beginning of the year, didn't see anyone after checking in, amenities were nice and the room was very comfortable and clean. Location is not too far from Brecon, but best drive as it's around 12 miles. Breakfast was good, just help yourself to bits that are there. I would visit again."

"Lovely spotless BnB in an amazing location across the street from a castle with views of the beautiful Brecons. Charming hosts that thought of everything. Beautiful impeccable bedroom en suite with the use of a gorgeously decorated and impressively comfortable lounge and kitchen. Could not be nicer! And excellent value Huge breakfast to it in or take as a picnic during the day. Extremely quiet. Easy parking- steps from everything. Loved hanging in the lounge at night, reading, relaxing and enjoying the beautiful furnishings. A plus hospitality!!"

Borderers Inn ★★★

"I had read most of the reviews on this establishment prior to booking, I can only say, that although they are all excellent, that is not good enough. From the moment when you ring the bell on arrival to the point of leaving, nothing is too much trouble. Gail is a wonderful communicator and makes everyone feel they are the most important resident, she has a vast knowledge of the district and is available all the time. She particularly made my wife's and my stay a real pleasure. I have particular requirements with food, and had anticipated issues, but that word does not exist in this establishment. It is also good value in monetary terms. WELL DONE, we look forward to our next visit."

The Town House Bnb ★★★★★
"We stayed here for two nights, and were thoroughly impressed with this place. The hosts (Paula and Glen) were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The BnB is beautifully designed and decorated, and completely spotless. We stayed in the Beacons room, which had a great view of Pen y Fan from the window, and a very comfortable bed and ensuite bathroom. There is a guest lounge, with drinks available to buy at a reasonable price and serve yourself, which we enjoyed on our last night. We also liked the continental breakfast that was included, which was done in a unique way via breakfast boxes. The hosts also provided dinner recommendations, which we used and were very pleased with. We would highly recommend this place to anyone else looking for somewhere to stay in Brecon, and we hope to come back one day and visit again ourselves!"

"We have stayed with Gail so many times now, every time the welcome is outstanding. Gail is an exceptional host... friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Gail's breakfasts are nothing short of superb, a great range of choices using high quality locally and responsibly sourced ingredients. The property is interesting, comfortable and full of character. Very highly recommended. Nicky, Tim & Darcey."
