Travelodge Hotel - Brentwood East Horndon

Arrived early evening, John helped me to get my requirements for a ground floor room, clean hotel and bright thank you

Stayed one night to attend wedding on weekend at the City Pavillion. The lodge is close to main road so very noisy but inside the room is quiet. The staff were courteous and let us in the room 45 minutes before time. It was clean and tidy, bed was comfy and the linen was clean and crispy. Bathroom was okay with pressure not so great but manageable. Next door is Starbucks if someone needs breakfast, however we didn't need it. The room was bit stuffy but there was a fan and after opening the window could manage a good night sleep after a very long drive. Overall it was good value for money, no complaints.

Stayed for a wedding reception nearby. Good location. Easy check in and all relevant information given, Laura was very helpful. Room was great, comfortable bed, spacious room. Easy access.

I stayed on a Friday night 18th July 2025. Overall it was a nice place to stay. Checked in late evening, Laura on reception very friendly and helpful. This particular Travelodge had just completed a complete refurbishment thought, all rooms, reception & all very clean, fresh. Room (107) on first floor was great, had everything I needed, all very clean, very comfortable bed (think it was brand new with the refurbishment). No air con but not a problem as you can open the windows (which I prefer to air con anyway) and there was a fan provided on the desk too which provided a welcome breeze and covered a bit the noise from the main A127 road nearby. I wondered if the road noise might be a problem but actually soon got used to it, it wasn't too bad and I slept very well even with the window open. The only thing that was a slight issue was the bath/shower control mixer tap. There wasn't much of a flow from the shower (but sufficient to get washed) but more importantly it was tricky to get it neither too hot or too cold. However the worst point with it was could not get it to turn off ! Tried for ages without success. So a friend staying in adjacent room came to help - he said the mixer in his bath was different. He initially could not fix the problem either, but eventually worked it out ( had to turn one knob around at least a dozen turns to stop water even though only one turn to start it, which seems very strange). Anyway everything else about the Travelodge was fine and I am happy to recommend this one. Had coffee and croissant in the adjacent Starbucks in morning - it was fine in there also. Note that you can't get breakfast in the adjacent Halfway House pub. No noise from the pub the Friday evening I stayed at the Travelodge, but I did hear from people that on Saturday nights you might get loud noise from the pub as it is also a venue for wedding and other celebrations and events. Parking (free) was ok at the Travelodge when I was there , seemed to be enough places available.

Very convenient location. All reception staff friendly and keen to help, especially laura who goes beyond whats expected, to help. Very impressed

Maintenance/refurb work starting early in am, hence no chance of a lie in. Another night spent in a room which appeared to be not cleaned... especially carpet dirty When mentioned previously I was told it was down to the new robotic Hoover's which are not fit for purpose
