We stayed at this hotel from January 23–31 with a group of friends, booking multiple rooms. Having visited the year before, we decided to upgrade to a more expensive room (Room 501 in the new building), expecting a better experience. Unfortunately, the opposite was true. Within the first 24 hours, both my spouse and I became ill. My spouse developed allergic reactions, and I became severely sick overnight. While trying to understand what was happening, I discovered visible damage to the wooden flooring around the shower area caused by repeated water exposure, along with clear signs of black mold. This explained our symptoms. When we reported the issue, the response from management was deeply disappointing. The room was briefly inspected, and we were told that everything was “fine” and that no action was needed. This was shocking, considering the visible condition of the room and the fact that we had both become ill. Mold is a serious health hazard, not a minor inconvenience. We were moved to another room only after insisting—but instead of an upgrade or even a comparable room, we were given what felt like the smallest and worst-located room in the hotel. It was the only option offered. As a result of this situation, we lost one full ski day out of seven, were unable to use the spa facilities, could not enjoy the hotel’s amenities, and even meals became a challenge while we were recovering. At checkout, compensation was minimal and only provided after we explicitly requested it. It did not come close to reflecting the difference in room category or the impact this experience had on our trip. To make matters worse, compared to our previous stay under previous ownership, the overall service has declined noticeably, and the dining experience has lost much of its former quality and charm. This trip was a major disappointment and took us quite some time to recover from—both physically and mentally. I cannot recommend this hotel based on this experience.
