Great communication with host Dan via the *********** app (I now know that it is easy to book direct with the guesthouse). Check in was not until 3pm, but when I asked if we could arrive at 2pm, Dan said this was fine. We were able to park on the drive, which was great, but there were other parking spaces outside and a permit is provided if you use these. Check in was straight forward, with Dan explaining the room keys to us. Dan kindly offered to carry our bags, but we were happy to do this. We had chosen our room for the sea view and large bay windows which were lovely. The room was a decent size and had great storage - wardrobe, large chest of drawers, dressing table, bedside drawers. There was a lovely little table and 2 chairs by the window. I turned my chair round so I could look out at the sea and people passing by. There were complimentary bottles of water, which was a lovely touch and also ear plugs! I worried that this was a sign to expect a noisy night, but other than the seagulls, we found it quite quiet. The bed was comfy and we slept well. I had a small issue with the shower door on out first morning, but I rang Dan and it had been sorted by the time we returned in the afternoon. The guest house is in a great location. So close to the sea and only a few minutes walk to the nearest pubs and restaurants. We didn't use our car at all. I read on a sign in the hallway that breakfast was an option if booked in advance. We didn't see a dining room and there was no further information in our room (but I could have asked). Anyway, Wetherspoons and a breakfast Cafe were very close by, so this was fine. On checking out, I was unsure if we needed to do anything in particular, so tried ringing Dan, but then spotted a box to leave key cards. Dan rang a short time later and said if we wanted to leave the car on the drive for a while, we could as there was no one checking in til later. This was a really lovely gesture and if we hadn't have just left, we certainly would have done this. All in all, we had a lovely stay and would definitely return, should we be planning another trip to Bridlington.
