The Downs Hotel

Great hotel, stayed here a couple of times in recent weeks and have to say it's never disappointed. The staff are lovely and friendly and the rooms are perfectly decorated and furnished. Everything you need including a really comfy bed and great bathroom, it even has a coffee machine if you need one . The rooms are really clean, a special mention to Sarah in housekeeping for doing a great job. Although it's on a busy road, I didn't really hear the noise but that might just be me. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stopover in the area, the pub serves great food and the breakfast is perfect to start off the day.

Popped in for lunch today with friends, food was very good (nachos could have been a bit bigger given the price £12.50 however they tasted amazing!) & service was excellent. Used “the pub” app to order food & drinks without any problems. Highly recommend!

I would like to thanks kerry and her team at the downs Hotel woodingdean Brighton. For all they hard work they put in at my aunt funeral wake.the food was excellent and a good variety of sandwiches. It is a excellent place to have a family get together and has parking for 40 cars. Thanks you kerry. From Joe jolly .

E have been here several times since we moved to the area and always had a great experience. However on this occasion sadly the food was really poor and the service was slow. It wasn’t busy, however the waiting staff were really slow. The hunter’s chicken was frozen chicken with processed cheese and the roast was small and underwhelming. Really disappointed!

Booked to stay the night before the Brighton marathon and was quite concerned when I got there and the pub was full of football fans. I was worried about the noise, I didnt need to. Once in our room we couldn't hear any bar noise. The room was lovely and comfortable. Huge comfy bed and a lovely modern bathroom with walk in shower. The room was also spotless and well stocked with tea and a coffee pod machine, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Housekeeping, Angela, does a great job! We needed to go early in the morning before the restaurant opened. The manager very kindly opened early for us so we could have some cereal, yoghurt and fruit before our run. We ate in the restaurant the night before and the food was delicious, typical British fayre. All the staff we came across were so helpful and friendly. Overall a lovely hotel that I would definitely go to again with lovely views over the south downs.

We stayed here overnight whilst on a works social night out, we had pre drinks here before heading into Brighton for the night, the pub has a very friendly welcome with Landlord David making sure we were well looked after. The hotel rooms were 10/10 and the breakfast the next morning was superb, would highly recommend to anyone staying in the area.

Currently staying in Room 2 with our 9 year old son. We could not have been more pleased on arrival. Gorgeous location, friendly and welcoming staff, spotless room with beautiful attention to detail (thank you Angela!), very comfy beds. We've just enjoyed our evening meal in the restaurant which for the superb quality of food was very reasonably priced. And again, all the staff were absolutely brilliant. Lots of board games on offer for families which we took full advantage of. Looking forward to what breakfast has to offer and would not hesitate to stay again. Already sad to be leaving!

We had a wake in an area that had been reserved for us in the restaurant. Staff Sadie, Kacey, and Katlin were amazing helpful and sympathetic considering the circumstances of the gathering We ordered the £13 per person sandwich buffet for 20 people. Sandwiches could have done with more filling towards the crust and not all in the centre. We had to ask for the chips that came with the buffet. Three lovely bowls of hot chips arrived but could have done with a few more for 20 people. Thank you so much to the staff for their compassion on a sad day
