The hotel is located directly above the train station, which made the area feel a bit chaotic. While navigating to the beach, I took some small paths where I saw a few homeless people and even witnessed a loud argument between a Black and a White person, which was quite unsettling.
The white front desk staff member was completely expressionless. When I asked her if parking near the intersection was allowed for hotel guests, her only reply was, 'Only taxis can park here, I can do nothing.'
To be fair, all the other staff members were very good. Perhaps this particular staff member gets asked about parking too often.
The bathroom sink in our room drained incredibly slowly, almost completely blocked.
The only positive was the fearless and adorable seagulls on our windowsill.
Overall, I wouldn't really recommend this place. It's a 20-minute walk to the beach. If your budget allows, or during the off-peak season, I'd advise staying closer to the beach instead.
