3-Star Hotels in Brighton

The Legends hotel states that they have a bar and sub terrain night club in the basement, what they don’t state is :- a,  That the night club carries on until 4:00 am and that the ear plugs provided are ineffective. b,  That if you have a so called city view you can only see the rear of the  adjacent properties. c,  You can’t have the windows open for long because of the deafening noise coming from the air conditioning units on the lower roof and the noise from the extractor chimney are the equivalent to booking accommodation in a machine shop. d,  Empty bottles cascading into the wheelie bin through the small hours of the morning. When we complained about this we were told that staff were not supposed to empty bottles before 8:00. The last time we heard bottles was 5:30. e,  Dirty mouldy bathroom. Dust all over the radiator that dirtied the towels when placed on it.  f,  Misrepresentation of rooms size in the hotel description. Ours was definitely not the same as the one pictured. g,  Being fobbed off  by the hotel staff when we asked to see anyone of authority so we could get reimbursed, and who would only be available when we were long gone. So as you can see from our experience and since getting home and reviewing the lower scores left by previous travellers we are not the only couple to have had a less than pleasant experience at the Legends hotel

This is a nice little hotel and I’ve stayed here several times due to it’s convenient location. This stay I had an issue with my room but the staff sorted it out quickly. The breakfast is good value at I think £12, so you can really fill up for the day before going out and exploring. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are a good size. During the summer the rooms are more expensive as it’s peak season, however compared to many other hotels this is pretty good value for money.

The service attitude of the hotel is quite good. Although the water in the shower is very small, the heating is sufficient. At the beginning, the heating in one room was not working well. They immediately helped us change the room. It was also very quiet. You can also store your luggage. Thank you very much for the reception

Stayed for a hen party, had a family and double room. Rooms were very spacious and well kept. My friends were surprised that it was a hostel not a hotel. Upon arrival, we were just going to leave our bags as we were early, however the rooms were available so went right up. Had a lovely welcome drink. Staff even helped with booking a 8 person taxi to the other side of the pier later in the evening. The entrance/reception and restaurant is beautiful, hanging greenery, art really lovely. It offers free tea/coffee and water and a small selection of items you can buy. On returning later that night (early morning) had to show wrist bands to get in which is a great security feature. Within the rooms there is bedding/towels and complementary shampoo/conditioner/body wash and hand wash. There is a hair dryer in each room. Would definitely stay again.

Friendly staff,room ok ,happy that they kept our bags so we could stay for a few more hours,hotel is about 35 mins from train station,good location across from sea life and the pier, plenty of places to eat and drink,would return to hotel.

Stayed in room 9. Broken glass left in room. Half the lights didn't work. Shower didn't work. Shower was dirty. TV didn't work. No remote. Window was stuck open and took excessive force to close. Tried to use one of the communal showers, and the lock on the door was broken, and wouldn't lock. Cleaning supplies left in hotel room. Previously stayed in (IIRC) room 8, where again half the lights didn't work, and the double glazed windows were half filled with water. No reception on site. When issues were reported to reception call line and OYO booking service no action was taken. Next day reception told their bosses all problems were resolved when they weren't. OYO booking line demanded I wait longer and longer for the hotel reception to 'have a chance to fix things'. Up to the moment I left nothing was done about any of it by the hotel manager - and nothing was done to the hotel manager for their negligence and incompetence. The people running this hotel are liars. And their supervisors refuse to hold them to account for their appalling conduct. Don't be lulled by the picture. It isn't accurate. See above paragraph. I will not be returning a third time.

I was really worried when we first booked as the reviews were so awful online. I don’t want to discredit anyone else’s experience as they could have fixed some of the issues since other peoples stays but my partner and I both thought it was wonderful! The check in was super easy, the ‘guest house’ area wasn’t in use but who’s spending time in there anyway? The room was stunning! No problems with the cleanliness, noise or amenities. View of the beach front from the room window, hot water for the bath. No problems with the key safe or access to the building/room. I thought it was important to leave this review as the hotel seems to have a bad reputation online but from our experience it was fantastic! We’ll definitely be back and will be recommending!

A small, friendly hotel near everything. The city centre is full to visit. The hotel is very friendly and very friendly.
