The room was very spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet considering it's central location. The room would benefit from a little TLC, the walls could do with a lick of paint as they were rather scuffed and the carpet was a bit tired and worn, but these aren't big issues. Also, the blackout curtain wasn't wide enough to cover the full width of one of the windows so there was a 6-inch gap at one end. The air conditioning was working fine (and quietly), my room was a comfortable temperature despite the heatwave. A couple of suggestions to improve the room - put a socket beside the bed so guests don't have to charge their mobile phone on the other side of the room, and put a mirror above the desk so guests can use the hairdryer at the desk rather than standing in front of the full length mirror and having to put their hairbrushes on the floor. The breakfast was a pretty standard buffet - hot food, pastries, continental cold meat and cheese selection, yoghurt, fruit etc. I think they may also have done some dishes to order but I didn't see a menu on any of the tables. There is also a gym but I didn't go in so can't rate it. The location is excellent - very central and just minutes walk away from many bars, restaurants, the waterside etc.

Really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are lovely and really cool in the hot summer days! The hotel is well kept and clean too but the only downside was the parking. Limited spaces and no availability to park meant having to park at a car park further down and paying £26! The hotel itself is lovely and would definitely recommend.

What other people are saying, applies: staff is VERY friendly and helpful and the hotel is very clean. Facilities are very dated, which I don't mind as much. What did annoy me was that the only power outlet in the room was at the desk, and there was none next to the bed to charge your phone overnight or your laptop while watching movies in bed. Also only a UK power outlet, no USB charging option - this is really not up to date anymore. Nowadays, I expect to find outlets on both sides of the bed, and hopefully some USB ones. Breakfast unfortunately was a huge disappointment: scrambled eggs were cold as if they'd been sitting around since yesterday, everything else also didn't seem very fresh at all. The choice was good, but it needs to be fresher, you need to use some hot plates with covers to keep eggs, bacon etc. actually hot. The breakfast room was empty, so perhaps not many guests. In that case, perhaps consider switching to a breakfast-order-menu rather than buffet? Or a smaller buffet, where you refill the eggs constantly, so keep them fresh and hot for new people arriving? I was there at 8am so right in the middle of the available breakfast time. Definitely wasn't worth paying for this breakfast...

The hotel is literally right in the middle of the harbour side, so a great location for the bars and restaurants. We were up on the 16th floor so was absolutely boiling, I had to ask reception for a fan, so they gave me a tiny one that helped a little with the heat. The curtains were missing, only had the blackout plastic curtains and nets which were badly stained. The carpet was also heavily stained. The kettle/tea and coffee tray was placed where there was no plug socket, so the kettle had to be boiled on the floor which surely is a health and safety issue? We went to the restaurant for breakfast, no one came to us so we grabbed a table then a girl came over to ask which room number we were from. I had to ask for more eggs and orange juice as they were both empty, and the coffee machine was like warm…..awful!! The cooked breakfast was buffet style yet was all cold. In the evening we called to the bar area, no one was serving so after about 5 minutes, I had to go down to reception to ask if there was any staff. He phoned someone, then a boy came from upstairs to serve us. We were the only 2 people sat in the bar area yet a few youngsters came in and out to sit and charge phones and use the toilet. Staff were all friendly and polite, just felt like the room needed a good clean.

The hotel itself was ok, although coming in through the Marsh Street entrance wasn’t the best start, as that street is quite dirty and smelly. Location is handy for lots of attractions in the city. The room was just about alright overall, but the bedroom part could definitely do with some updating and replacement of some furniture and fixings etc. as it looked quite run-down and even grubby in parts, unfortunately. The bathroom was good - clean and modern, but the rest of the room let it down. On the positive side, the staff were lovely and the bar area was really nice, so it has potential but needs some investment in the rooms to bring it up to standard.

Super clean hotel. A little old fashioned? Maybe was cutting edge when it first opened but decor wise old. Doesn't really have a style or feel. However. It was a bed when I needed it. Staff are insanely good. Was seriously impressed with their level of service. Almost felt out of place in a hotel of that look? Anyway thanks!
