I had planned a 3 night stay but extended it to 4, as I had such a fabulous time. The good weather did help admittedly. Excellent self-catering facilities, lots of equipment and space to cook and dine. There was quite a diverse group of people when I was there, which was really nice and everyone was very friendly. A good place to socialise and make friends. Rooms and toilets and showers were very clean. Very comfortable beds. Staff were often on hand to give advice. I would highly recommend Skye Basecamp.

Lovely beds and showers, wonderful staff, great storage and drying room. Great lounge with pool table and comfy chairs. Kitchen fully equipped. So handy for the supermarket too. Met some lovely folk. Thanks all! **********************

What a tine we had at the basecamp. A Lovely warm relaxing atmosphere met us and the rooms were spotless. The kitchen was very well equipped and well laid out. The staff were extremely helpful and the whole experience was just wonderful. I would go back anytime and I am 70 years old

My sister and I stayed for one night but wished we stayed longer! Very cosy vibe, accessible by bus. Close to Portree and hikes in the area. Room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Kitchen spacious and well equipped. Close to the main road, but just a few meters off, so the sound of the traffic was quite quiet.

The place had everything, friendly, warm and comfortable and knowledgeable staff, a good mix of people, great facilities and access to Skye guides. It is in the town which has most things you need and within walking distance to the restaurant, bars and take aways.

Skye Basecamp is an excellent base for exploring the Skye munros. I was booked in with Skye Guides and this was the perfect base to return to each day after walking. The kitchen is very well equipped, rooms are clean and the atmosphere of being around other walkers is great - I got chatting to a lot of the other guests. The lounge is great to hang around and relax and read a book. There is a drying room for drying off any wet kit from your walk too. Staff are all very friendly. There are plenty of restaurants, a chippy and a Co-op just 5 min walk away for shopping. Definitely recommend booking a guide from Skye Guides if you're going up into the Cuillin to do munros.

Perfect spot to rest up, clean up and wash up! Staff were so welcoming and friendly. I have nothing bad to say about Skye Basecamp was very clean, warm and cosy. Exactly what I needed after completing the Skye trail. As soon as I checked in I got shown around the premises so knew exactly where everything I needed was.

I thought this place was excellent - really great atmosphere, lots of nationalities all loving Skye. The rooms were great, the welcome warm, the kitchen clean and very well equipped and the sitting room very sociable. First time Hostelling in decades and made me want to do it again (and again). Great supermarket very nearby, also a few restaurants to choose from.

May 2024 3 nights, 2 different rooms. Comfortable beds, nice common spaces, clean facilities, great showers, small but effective drying room, friendly and welcoming staff. Rates in line with what other similar hostels are offering. Broadford and this hostel in particular is a great “ base camp” for your outdoor adventures on Skye wether or not you seek a more laid back option to Portree, but certainly if you do!
