Glenisle Hotel ★★★
"The staff are very welcoming and helpful, and the check-in process was quick and easy. The waterfront location is beautiful, the pub garden looks like it would be a lovely place to relax in warmer months, and parking was conveniently available directly in front of the hotel. The room itself had a nice decor style and the heating worked well, however the bathroom was in really poor repair (staining/damage all over the walls, bubbling around flooring/woodwork from poor ventilation, and the shower door had clearly broken off at some point and was replaced with a shower curtain that didn't keep all the water in?!). The toiletries provided are of good standard for a hotel and smelled lovely. The bed was hard so that's pro or con dependening on your preference - I personally prefer it. The staff in the restaurant and bar downstairs were absolute diamonds, couldn't do more to help us and were attentive/provided quick service despite it being a busy night. We really didn't enjoy the food so can't recommend dinner itself, but their bar is great for a cosy and relaxed drink."
Lauriston Hotel ★★★
The Glenburn Hotel ★★★
"We had a sea view room which had a great view, but the windows were so dirty and cobwebs in the corners that it actually spoiled that for us. The staff and service they provided was excellent, but however I expected a wider variety of meals but the menu was very limited. It was nice to sit at the tables provided outside when having drinks, but again the metal railings at the tables had a lot of chipped and flaked paint and made the hotel look rather run down. The dining rooms and all the seating areas with lovely leather chairs was very nice on the ground floor, but moving up the stairs there was black tape holding the red tartan carpet together, our room actually had small nails holding the wallpaper on the walls. It all looked great online ,but close up it was rather tired."
Lamlash Bay Hotel ★★★
"I have been for lunch there several times with family and, as I was on a day trip with my dog, decided to spend the night there. Very welcoming - everything was perfect and I would highly recommend it. I will be staying there again soon I hope. I stayed in Room 10 and just look at my view. Super friendly and fun staff, amazing food (try the Cullen Skink!) and a great night's sleep. My dog loved it too. LOVED it."
The Woodhouse Hotel ★★★
"Stayed here many times now - the owners are always friendly, rooms warm & a good night’s sleep. Excellent breakfast. The decor is a bit dated & en suite facilities tight & tired and in an ideal world could be smartened up. However it’s clean & good value. What’s not to like?"
Seamill Hydro Hotel ★★★★
"Beautiful hotel had a lovely relaxing stay. Food was lovely really nice breakfast too. Staff were very helpful and really nice. Pool area is good not to busy. Not much round about but perfect if you want a quiet relaxing time away. Would definitely recommend. Will go back again."
