"Location is excellent, 2 minutes from the ferry. Host was very welcoming. Room was huge, with a settee in front of the huge window with the most fab view if the sea. Bathroom was also very large. Bed was comfortable, could have done with dusting the room and the hallway. No breakfast included in the booking but was available from the cafe downstairs and there was a great baker 100 yards away. Good restaurants nearby."

"I have stayed many times at the Seamill Hydro and always have a very positive experience. I take my daughter to stay each year and this was for her Easter holidays. Unfortunately this time there was construction work being carried in the hotel and both myself and my child were woke up very early this morning with loud noises (sounded like loud drilling) We couldn't get back to sleep.  It spoiled the experience unfortunately. I was not made aware of the construction work prior to deciding to book an overnight stay. Kind Regards *************"

"I have been for lunch there several times with family and, as I was on a day trip with my dog, decided to spend the night there. Very welcoming - everything was perfect and I would highly recommend it. I will be staying there again soon I hope. I stayed in Room 10 and just look at my view. Super friendly and fun staff, amazing food (try the Cullen Skink!) and a great night's sleep. My dog loved it too. LOVED it."

Stonefield Castle Hotel ‘A Bespoke Hotel’

"Room was cramped, felt like a travel lodge bolted to a nice old building. The curtains did not block much light, the pole being very wonky. The bathroom was not of a very good standard. For the price we expected more than just a basic stay. Breakfast service was unusual to say the least - we arrived early to the restaurant and asked if it would be OK. The waiter responded with "well, I can hardly kick you out can I?"."
