"Just enjoyed a lovely week stay in Sycamore Lodge. Great facilities within the Lodge that made it a home from home including a recently installed shower. Hosts are lovely, welcoming and friendly. Each time we spoke they asked if there were any issues. The only issue we had was with regards to the WiFi, we did have 8 devices, and they were able to boost it. Lovely quiet location with woodland to the rear that my children loved to go play in. We enjoyed being able to sit and have a cuppa out the front and to watch the squirrels running around without a care. Local amenities are within a short car ride and within lovely surroundings. Would definitely recommend a stay here and fully intend on staying again in the future."

"Easy to find. Good carpark. Great welcome. Lift, which we hadn't seen in travelodge before. It has 2 floors, which was new for us too. Nice room, carpets looked new, clean. Good beds, very high. Comfortable cotton bedding. Good lighting, making possible to read in the night, not disturbing much the other persons. Some effort for sorting out recycling waste. Next to the Travelodge, simple eating: subway, greggs, a kebab... On the minus side: poor phone/data signal. Which made contacting the reception by phone at arrival impossible. Fortunately, other guests arrived just after us and had a better connection from outside the building so the desk was attended very quickly. Wi-Fi free 30 minutes only in travelodge. Pillows a bit thick, no choice for a thinner one. Window only open a tiny bit, for security. The main annoyance was the closeness of the main road, busy on a Sunday evening, in the night around 4am, and the morning. If you are not one to take your earingaid off during the night, use something to block the sounds. Or, pay for choosing a room at the back, and avoid the south side when very hot. It was OK for us, the heatwave was over. Thanks for a lovely night on our way."

"We enjoyed our stay here. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The concierge at reception helpfully took our bags up to the room. The shower in our accessible room was lovely and hot and the beds were comfortable. Meals in the shelburne restaurant were very nicely presented and service was quick. The menu for the DBB offer was more limited and had supplements for some items ( i think it was £18 supplement for the lamb! You could buy a joint for that). It might have been nice to have 1 or 2 specials each day for variety, particularly if you were staying for more than a couple of nights. The lounge area and library was comfortable to sit in and read. We had lunch in the golf club area. The choices were tapas style but quite expensive. The air conditioning in the room was excellent, especially during the hot weather. All the breakfast staff were friendly and efficient, especially Betti, who was particularly welcoming. We used the DBB offer, which included entrance to Bowood house and gardens. Our room overlooked part of the golf course and mainly the carpark, which was very busy all day with golfers. I booked a massage in the spa area, which was really good. The spa wasn't that busy when I went there and the pool looked inviting. I did hear a couple complain that the jacuzzi and the sauna were out of action. Looking at the reviews, this seems a common theme,or perhaps it hasn't been fixed for a while?"
