The Royal Bryanston
7.5 (26 reviews)

The Royal Bryanston ★★★

📍 36 Ballyclare Drive, Bryanston

"the rooms are spacious and comfortable and have everything you need. The bathrooms are open plan with the bedroom space and have no curtains, therefore light comes in in the early mornings in summer. the room servicing service is a bit slow, with cleaners only getting to the rooms in the late afternoons when we were returning to the unit. "

"The rooms are big and comfortable. Nice quiet place, good for family outings. Big and nice bathrooms with both bathtub and showers. It's very secure and safe. No noisy cars moving up and down both during the day and at night. I really enjoyed my stay, will definitely book with them again when I return to Joburg."

City Lodge Hotel Bryanston
7.9 (30 reviews)

City Lodge Hotel Bryanston ★★★

📍 2 Nursery Ln, Sandton, Bryanston

"The speed point machine didn't work on checking in and I had to be sent a pay link. After a series of trying to make payment and I was embarrassed infront of my woman. Got to the room the safe is not working it had to be fixed infront of us. I asked for pool towels from reception the African guy wearing a suit said we must go to the pool and the towels will be given to us, so my wife must walk naked around the hotel pass reception like really. The group of boys booked at the hotel made a horrible noise on the corridors, walking around the hotel with speakers box till late at night in the morning it was them at 05h00 making noise the was no order or what so ever. Breakfast time they ticked our names then the was no seat offer or even told how is the service, is it self service or you get served and none of the stuff came to check on us or to greet us and check how was our night. One of the stuff a white guy eating bacon near the stove in the kitchen holding it with his hands I mean we buy this food and he dips his hands in our food no. After we went to the pool the was 3 outside beds and limited chairs this boys and girls didn't give other guest a chance to use the pool and worse while we are swimming the girls come from the match with their sweaty kit and jumped in the pool and the management said nothing. We felt disrespected by this. It was my woman's birthday but you guys ruined it big time. The house keeper has no way of talking to people the one cleaning ground floor. But Mr Aaron, the chef and security guards beautiful job "

The Wesley Boutique Hotel & Spa
9.0 (3 reviews)

The Wesley Boutique Hotel & Spa ★★★★

📍 65 Cumberland Ave, Bryanston

"I spent 5 nights at the Wesley for a business trip. It's located in Bryanston in a very quiet area, about half an hour from the airport, and 1.5km from the Bryan shopping centre. Business parks and offices are a 10 minute taxi ride away. The room was very comfortable, and has a large walk-in shower. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful, and there is a pool, which I didn't get to try as it was still a bit cold. It was a real pleasure to relax in the gardens. Breakfast consists of cereals, juices, toast - and an excellent hot meal cooked to order. No fresh salad option, but I was more than happy with what was provided. Note there is no evening meal, so you'll need to go out, or order in from Uber Eats. There is no shortage of options in the area. If I need to return to Johannesburg I'll definitely stay at the Wesley again."

Bella Casa Guesthouse ★★★
"Not "bella casa" at all! The place is neglected and run down. Some gilded furnishings do not make up for the musty, dusty rooms and tired general areas. Construction supposedly for revamp /refurbishment has a huge area of the place cordoned off with make shift material, with the roof in that area missing, it's an attractive playground for pigeons early morning call sessions. Although supposedly a recent development, this seems like something in process for way longer than the booking platforms intimate. Housekeeping is done daily, but is inconsistent, with stained and torn linens and the occasional unidentified hair in the bed, chipped cups, no teaspoons and depending on the day even 2 guests may enjoy a single glass or cup. The room we stayed in, promoted as a luxury suite and one of the best rooms, had peeling wallpaper, torn and stained drapes, stained and discoloured carpets and headboards. The dressing room/ walk-in closet area was as tired and stained. Long stay guests added drama and raucous gathering and squabbles till late at night and the early hours of the morning - this seems to have become a regular and accepted occurrence based on the response received when raising a complaint. The tv is on its way out and the promised super wifi was non existent. Although the onsite property manager is personable and says all the expected things, there is very little control or management of the real issues, guests are really left to find solutions and make do. The kitchen area, available to guests for use, is a health and safety hazard. Broken and disgusting stove, utensils, pots, draws are nauseating... they are beyond being saved by cleaning. Absolutely a bust as accommodation for business travellers or any travellers hoping for what the pictures promise. The supposed opulence may have been fresh and a selling point at same point, but all that now remains is a Grubby Casa!"

City Lodge Hotel Bryanston ★★★
"Hotel is noisy, room clean but things like remotes were filthy. Shower head very poor and a mediocre breakfast. Hotel staff were ok. If you want anything better than than stale filter coffee not only is it a 20minute if you are lucky but comes at an additional cost"

The Pecan Tree Guesthouse ★★★★
"The guesthouse was excellent. They catered to my small requests easily, all processes were smooth. I needed to phone when I first arrived as it was loadshedding. Thereafter the remote I was given worked perfectly during loadshedding. Some plugs in the room (TV, laptop and phone charger) are powered during loadshedding while the kettle and microwave in the kitchenette are (for obvious and valid reasons) not. The building itself is a bit old, but the bathroom has been newly renovated. The breakfast was brilliant! I will definitely be returning to the Pecan Tree."
