Our stay at the Continental Hotel in Bucharest was mostly pleasant and comfortable. The hotel itself is well-maintained, offering a great ambiance and excellent amenities. The food served at the restaurant was delicious, and the restaurant staff were warm, accommodating, and attentive to our needs.
However, our experience at check-in left something to be desired. The female front desk staff member we interacted with was not particularly helpful. When we asked if the tap water was safe to drink, her response was dismissive, stating she didn’t know and suggesting we purchase water from the hotel instead. Similarly, when we inquired about the possibility of an early breakfast due to our early departure for a day trip to Peles Castle, she was uncooperative and rigid, insisting breakfast was strictly served at 6:30 AM.
Thankfully, the restaurant staff went above and beyond. When we arrived at 6:15 AM, they graciously opened the doors early and welcomed us, allowing us to grab some food before we left. Their professionalism and kindness turned around what could have been a frustrating situation.
