This hotel is no longer open & is permanently closed. It’s closed and expected to be sold as a private dwelling. Why is this still being shown on Tripadvisor: an on line check will establish the hotel is no longer trading. It’s closed it’s not open!

Okay I didn’t stay. Just saw these two fantastic ladies on Four In Bed and wanted to offer support. The other folks were all lovely as well but I felt Jane in particular was fantastic and had a fantastic sense of humour, a shame Harold didn’t take it the same way. Harold was a lovely guy so I can’t hate on him. If I’m ever in the area I’ll definitely stay. Two fantastic ladies. (After saying all this I hope they’re still there).

We booked this to attend a nearby 60th. I’ve stayed in many hotels with work and leisure and never pre-paid in full for a night that was refundable! Odd but ultimately not an issue. The check-in lady was extremely polite to the point of being OTT. I was presented with paperwork to sign, but which was already signed. The lady decided to just cross out the signature, initial it herself and then ask me to sign. It wasn’t even mine. And when I pointed this out, the correct paperwork was found with some comment about the “system” not working. Again, all sorted. I’d booked the Daffodil room partly as I felt the rates for other rooms were too high for a place without any parking facilities or full bar and restaurant facilities. It’s not the property’s fault it hasn’t its own parking, but it is an issue, and would help if the website had details. I’d hunted reviews to find out the position. And that bedroom isn’t practical. My husband is 6’3 and feet overhung the small double bed considerably. He kept banging his head on the low (beautiful) en-suite doorway. It was just far too cramped for two people to be comfortable in when trying to get dressed. And we nearly tripped over a box of cleaning products placed near the access door to our bedroom door, which required us to move the box to be able to open. Thankfully we didn’t trip or injure ourselves or this rating would have been the lowest. And if you need to promptly check out to move a car by 9am from the free spots, you may get clamped as breakfast is exceptionally slow. Like many places in the sector, the hotel is recruiting, but with only six rooms to cater for, a 50 minute wait is unacceptable. We had to sit in the small bar, as the actual dining room isn’t big enough. We had to move chairs to have ones of a height that could reach the table. After several minutes, I sought out the staff. Breakfast itself when it came was delicious but the table was too small to fit everything, so felt cramped. Also, after a few minutes, my husband was asked to repeat our order for only two people and still received the wrong toast. Thankfully, we weren’t rushing but the delay let the lovely food down. Chloe was pleasant enough but given our comments about not bothering with the correct toast due to the existing wait, an apology at least was merited. I’d only stay again in a much larger room, but at those prices with limited facilities and slow breakfast, would be more likely to try somewhere else. All things that could be addressed which would do justice to what is a beautiful property. As with another review, this isn’t accessible at all. The spiral staircase could be a challenge for some.

We held a family event here yesterday for approximately 45 people. The food (which was all home made at the venue) was outstanding. The staff are excellent and we were lucky enough to have good weather so were able to take advantage of the lovely walled garden and decking area. Two of our party booked a room for the night and they were very impressed with their stay . Great Staff,Great Food, Great Accommodation.

Where can I start? From the moment I booked our 2 night stay the service was second to none, friendly, attentive and put me at ease with lots of great information. Upon arrival we were greeted with warmth and true friendliness, the moment we pulled up outside the hotel we were truly impressed with the quality of the building. Once inside the quality and tastefulness of the decor is stunning , attention to detail I every way is exceptional, not often my wife goes somewhere and wants to buy it all for our own home, fabulous. We stayed in the peony room which was spacious, homely and spotlessly clean, amenities and refreshments were all of very high quality, the bed was very comfortable , linen of very high quality, most definitely on a par with the 5 star hotels we have stayed in around Europe. The service and staff were also of a 5 star standard which is clearly part of the owners (Jane) approach to customer experience, literally nothing was too much trouble or even not already thought about, quite incredible in a small boutique hotel. Breakfast matched the expectations of such a professional and customer focused establishment, food quality was exceptional , my wife is vegan and that was clearly not an issue as she had options that she was very happy with, again 5 star service. All in all we feel we have found a real gem here and will become regular visitors, in a world of hustle and bustle this place is a rare oasis of calm and care . If you like the finer things in life at very reasonable prices then this hotel is a must try.

Jane and the Stoneleigh House team recently hosted an evening celebration for us. From the first meeting to the last moments of the 'do' Jane and her team were to notch - they couldn't have worked harder or been more lovely. The food, drinks service and venue are absolutely perfect for a celebration - the garden is stunning and the inside is fabulous for a 'private house party' type vibe. We also had a very comfortable overnight stay and have been for drinks and afternoon tea at other times too. Its a real asset to the town - if you haven't been, go and explore it!

Friendly staff, good food, comfortable rooms and a real personal touch made our stay a real highlight of a trip to see the British Grand Prix. Sometimes a hotel is just a place to put one’s head down. This was so much more. Highly recommended. I travelled to the UK to watch the British Grand Prix with my teenage sons. We had two rooms at the top of the house which afforded us a degree of privacy. The rooms were beautiful and had a lovely individual feel to them. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the service was spot on. The boutique nature of the hotel lends itself to an intimacy that is very comforting. I have no doubt that we did not represent the typical guests of the hotel but that did not deter the staff from delivering an exceptional service. I would have no hesitation in booking again.

"The title stoneleighhouseboutiquehotel may lead prospective visitors to assume that the establishment offers the normal range of hotel meals. However its web-site does not mention that it does not serve either lunch or dinner. It is, therefore, what is normally called a B&B."
