A group or 8 stayed for 3 nights in January. It was cold outside and lovely and warm in the hotel. We were made very welcome by all the staff. Rooms were very good and clean. The food was first very good and full of flavours. Will stay again. Thankyou to a great team

This inn is very well managed. For anyone wanting to experience the best of British, they won’t go far wrong here. Cosy, stylistic, friendly, professional, atmospheric, value.

We had 2 nights at this wonderful hotel. Such lovely staff, so friendly and welcoming. The bed was comfortable and lovely pillows. Food in the restaurant was cooked to perfection. We will certainly be back to stay.

Great find! Booked this for an overnight stay whilst visiting Ludlow Christmas Market, and we couldn’t have chosen better. Lovely location, which I would image is even better in the Summer. Lovely room; friendly staff; fantastic breakfast!

We have just returned from a visit to this wonderful establishment. The location is idyllic, right on the river Teme. Our stay did not go without a hitch BUT, it was handled and resolved, in a professional and extremely helpful way by the lovely Manager Jess. Nothing was too much trouble for her - an absolute gem! Because of the extreme hot weather our first night was torture, being over the kitchens, but fans, cold drinks and ice were readily provided to help us out. A special mention here to Amelia who was so very sweet to me and couldn’t do enough to try to alleviate my discomfort. We were moved to a different room the following morning. Both rooms were lovely, well furnished with comfy beds and great bathrooms. We ate in the restaurant both evenings - excellent food and all served by very friendly staff. Breakfast was great too. A choice of juices, cereals, fruit etc to help yourself to, and a good choice of hot dishes too. One lovely girl gets a special mention here. Thank you Niamh for looking after us so well, particularly the way in which you handled everyone deciding to go in for breakfast at more or less the same time on our last morning. You never wavered in your enthusiasm and friendliness, despite the enormous amount of effort it must have taken. A wonderful girl. The Manager has put together a lovely team of staff - thanks to them all from us both. We would not hesitate to stay here again and will probably go out of our way to, should we ever be in the area.

I was traveling through on business and booked a single room for December 27th. It was perfectly set up with an antique bed under the eaves, excellent quality linens, and en-suite shower. It was thoughtfully provisioned with flavored waters, coffee and tea in the room and spotlessly clean. I went downstairs for an evening meal and had an excellent Christmas pudding after. In the morning, staff were very chatty and polite over breakfast. A full English breakfast was included in the price and it was all local meats, produce, beautifully cooked and presented. Cozy, convenient and top quality all round.

Had lunch here with a party of walkers - we arrived after two pm but providing an excellent lunch for 12 of us was no problem to the staff at all,. The food and service were both excellent - I recommend the steak sandwich - probably the best I have ever had anywhere!! This is a hostelry that knows what it is doing and does it well!!!

Nice pub. Good evening meal but not exceptional. Room adequate but quite dated. Breakfast service slow and food disappointing.

We were in the area for a wedding and 7 of us stayed at The Lion for 2 nights. It’s a great bar/restaurant with a lovely beer garden next the the river and bridge. Our rooms were clean and very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Some other wedding guests stopped for lunch there and loved it. We had dinner on one of the evenings in the beer garden. The staff were wonderful, honestly this is a great place to stay and I highly recommend it.
