I’ve had the privilege of staying all around the world including many different hotels in Uganda. Single handedly Marple cottages was the worst I’ve visited. Firstly, the location and grounds of the establishment is really good but sadly it goes down hill from there. Staff- all staff have had zero training and just act clueless around you! The manager was, I’m sorry the worst excuse for a manager I’ve ever seen- unable to assist with anything! Rooms, they are dated, dirty and literally falling apart. Shower wasn’t a shower as there was no wall mount so you had to hold the head, water was always ice cold FOR ALL 4 rooms I booked for 3nights. Window couldn’t close Mosquito net had holes in it so was pointless being there. The air on unit is a fan blowing room temperature air around. Restaurant, dreadful our local friends couldn’t even eat their dinner and we resorted to having a plate of chips because everything we tried to order we were advised was “out of stock” we then travelled to Endiro cafe for the remaining duration to eat our dinners there. Breakfast was ok, it’s pleasant. The owner simply doesn’t care, the hotel has huge potential but it appears nobody cares about making this place a success which is why I can almost guarantee it’s not making a profit. Please don’t stay here!
