Budapest Hotels with Bars

The lobby is just fabulous and the Cafe de Paris, which is attached to, but not owned by (as I understand it) the hotel is totally amazing. Wonderful marble lobby, friendly and very efficient front desk/concierge staff and the rooms are good, but not exceptional. For sightseeing the location is not the best - there are no good restaurants around and about and the food on the hotel’s balcony overlooking the Cafe de Paris is boring and very expensive - as is the wine, and drinks in the lobby. We would recommend the hotel highly to friends but point out that the location is not the best for sightseeing - that said there is a Hop on, Hop off bus stop right outside the door.

Hospitality at this hotel is pretty much non-existent, especially for what I'd expect of a Novotel. It starts with having no doorman. You'll see this a few times in others comments. They give you one water bottle in your room. Don't expect them to replace it throughout your stay though. That'd be a lot to ask. Room service? I'm not sure if they cleaned the rooms during our stay. They did make the beds. That's about all. When I asked where I might find water, I was rudely directed to purchase a bottle from the restaurant. This is unheard of to me. Filtered water should always be freely provided. The breakfast was also quite mediocre. Huge lineup for coffee, no brewed coffee, which would be quicker to serve. Staff not around. For the price, the breakfast is certainly not worth it. Not a great experience. I won't be returning.

The hotel is on the Buda side, next to the Chain Bridge, and has a good location. The room with a bridge view was on the second floor, which is a bit low. You can walk across the bridge, and the attractions on the Pest side can be reached on foot. (But if you just want to choose a hotel with a view, this location is a bit tasteless. If you want to see the Buda Castle and the Fisherman's Bastion, you can choose the Intercontinental and Marriott on the Pest side for hotels of the same level. If you want to see the beautiful scenery of the Fisherman's Bastion, you can choose the Hilton next to the Fisherman's Bastion. There are many related recommendations.) The hotel service is very good. There is a welcome wine when checking in. The room is very clean, with complete toiletries, slippers, free coffee, and a bottle of local Hungarian wine. In addition to some simple buffets, breakfast can be ordered according to the menu. It is very delicate and the taste is average. There is a very famous local restaurant on the top floor, but I didn't eat there due to time. Overall, it is a good hotel.

This hotel ticks all the boxes , location is brilliant bars and restaurants all around you’ll not struggle finding a drink or a place to eat , from burger joints to Michelin restaurants. Very close ruin bars and cafe New York , also the bus stop for the tour bus is within a 5 min walk , we got our bus tickets from the hotel and the women at the desk couldn’t be more helpful. The room we had was executive double it was huge had a lounge area with tea n coffee making facilities, separate shower n bath in the bathroom , mini bar offering everything you need to make your stay comfortable, the maids came every day cleaned our room and brought fresh towels, bedding and replenished our tea n coffee facilities. Breakfast at the hotel was lovely it had a huge offering there was something for everyone from fresh fruits ,pastries and juices to the hot selection bacon eggs etc , the hotel pool and sauna is brilliant and we used this every morning before breakfast. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Budapest , we really couldn’t fault it on our visit here ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beautiful hotel downstairs, but rooms are very tired, they are not as bright and vibrant as on the website. Our room on the 4th floor had no pictures on the walls and lacked the basic items. You could also hear the upstairs guests which was very annoying at 4am! The bathroom was also very dated. The Balcony was a lovely feature in the room. We asked for an iron only to be told there was an ironing room on the ground floor, this was really inconvenient. We went for lunch at the bar which was awful, my burger was rock hard and took ages to come and they only replaced it with the same thing. The location is great if you are heading out into the city. It does the job for a city break hotel.

Stayed here for 2 nights, the building is located in quite a convenient area with choices of public transport. It appears to be quite a newly renovated building, it stands out to be the most well-kept building in the whole street. I booked the Classic Double Room, Balcony with breakfast. I wouldn’t say the balcony is in many ways functional, it is very narrow and it is mainly used for people who want to smoke as there is an outdoor ashtray there. The room itself is modern, well kept, and didn’t show any particular wear so far. There are several issues I found with the room, the air conditioning works quite well but it is manually operated, when I left it in ‘auto’ mode it was quite loud. In the evening I set it to low fan speed but it just created a constant quite irritating fan noise which went away when I set the fan speed to medium. I also dislike the curtains, the blackout material doesn’t reach all the way up it leaves around a 2cm gap so the room is quite light in the morning. I tend not to sleep well when the room isn’t dark. I used the coffee machine in the room, but the coffee machine doesn’t work properly, despite I pressed the “full cup” function the machine only made around 10ml of coffee despite I keep pressing the button it would not make enough coffee to drink. When I returned to the room the next day the used coffee pod is still very much in the machine when I wanted to try the machine again which isn’t ideal when the housekeeper hasn’t checked the machine. The dirty cup was changed. Breakfast is at the basement restaurant, the selection of food is quite good and it was kept refreshed during breakfast. The reception staff were polite and spoke good English. Overall, I felt the room is modern, location is not bad but I felt the overall attention to detail is somewhat lacking such as the curtains doesn’t block out the light, noisy air conditioning, and the cleaning routine not involving checking the coffee machine. I don’t necessarily not recommend it but there are a few problems.

Great ibis hotel. Maybe the best ibis I have been to. Clean rooms with nice view of the River. Good choices for breakfast including me (vegetarian). Location is close to touristic attractions (maybe 20 minutes walk). Good price too. Staff are nice and helpful. No complaints

This was our first time in Budapest and this hotel was the perfect location, just a block from St. Stephens Basilica and walking distance to everything. It was sparkling clean, had friendly staff and was everything we needed at an affordable price. We paid the extra small fee for the breakfast which was an easy way to start the day.

The airport shuttle bus 100E drops only a few minutes walk away from the hostel. (30mins travel) Very useful. There is a socket and reading light next to each bed and I had a change of bedding on my second day. I feel that this is due to there being no bed bookings and you choose your own, so they don't know which bed is still in use. There's a danger you may lose your bed if you don't leave things on it. There was a shared bathroom with a toilet in it and a locker provided in the room too. I brought my own towel as this was not provided. There is shower gel provided in the shower. A really central hostel, though they're is a hub of bars directly opposite, so they're is a lot of noise until very late which means I had disrupted sleep both nights. Plenty of takeaway places close for quick bites to eat and lots of café spots close too. This hostel is also very close to get to the main sights and starts of walking tours also if you'd be doing this too.

The hotel locates at a very excellent location. Many main attraction points around it. The restaurant for breakfast buffet has a very good view. ALL the staff of the front desk is very helpful and nice. I arrive on the morning and they help to check the availability of the room. They allow the customer to have early check in early when the availability of the room is OK. Everything of the hotel is good. I recommend other people to stay at this hotel when they come to Budapest. I will stay again in Hilton Budapest when I visit there again.
