NH Collection Budapest City Center

Budapest|2.46km from Buda Castle
The NH Collection Budapest City Center provided a decent stay for my first (and hopefully not last) visit to Budapest, Hungary. I stayed nine nights in November 2021 and opted for one of the residence apartments with a second floor. The amount of space provided was impressive. Loved having a balcony on both floors. Did not use the smaller bath downstairs very much. The apartment provided a microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher and combination clothes washer/dryer. I was very pleased with he amenities offered in the apartment. I was very happy that the upstairs bathroom had a shower, which did NOT leak! Many other hotels are installing showers with a completely useless half shower door. The upstairs shower was a full enclosure and did not suffer an extremely wet floor with damp towels after showering. Bravo NH Collection Budapest City Center! The staff at the hotel were very helpful and I very much appreciated that the breakfast staff did not turn guests away if they showed up for breakfast after breakfast had ended. Guests were still allowed to have breakfast as long as food items were still available to be taken. However, after a few days, the breakfast options are a bit boring (same every day). The coffee is outstanding and offered all day long. Cookies and other snacks are available as well. I noticed that the business center computers still had Windows 7 installed?! Perhaps change that and update the operating system on the computers. Needless to stay, I did not use those computers. As others have mentioned, the hotel is within walking distance to an accessible MTS underground train station, Lidl grocery, the New York Cafe and a very good burger restaurant (Vaslap). All things considered, I would probably consider staying again or recommend to others opting to visit Budapest. Hope this review helps!

Park Plaza Budapest

Budapest|0.71km from Buda Castle
The hotel is conveniently located very close to public transportation. The tram is right across the street and the Metro station just a short walk away. You can also walk across to the other side of town where all the stores and restaurants are by using the Chain Bridge. However the bridge was closed for pedestrians last month, not sure if it is now open. Our room was a good size and we had a beautiful view of the Danube river and the Parliament. The small balcony outside our window needed to be cleaned though, as there were spider webs everywhere. Realized that after I stuck my head outside to look at the view.. You can also look outside the window in the hallway when you get off the elevators. It has a nice view of the castle at night. Bathroom was fine, there was a nice bathtub with a nice shower but I found the bathtub very high and it took me extra effort to climb in and out. Never had that problem before but for some reason this tub was not easy to climb into. The breakfast had many yummy choices. There were not many changes in what they offered everyday, but still they had many choices and also many different coffees you could prepare on the machine. Front desk staff were cordial and one young man in particular was very helpful with everything that we needed. I don't remember his name but he was in his 30s I believe with a goatie. All in all we enjoyed our stay! The only thing we wished is that this hotel had a pool, but oh well!

Pest-Buda Design Hotel

The location of the hotel is very good, and the surrounding scenic spots are within walking distance. However, walking from the subway station to the hotel are steps, and it will be inconvenient to bring luggage. The decoration style is very design sense, and the staff is very bice.
Hotel Clark Budapest - Adults Only

The Clark Hotel is located at Buda, which's very close to the cable car station of the Castle. It's also approachable for other sightseeing places in Buda. However, there's maintenance work nearby, so that the view from the room is not perfect. The check-in process is quite fast and efficient. Overall, the staff are friendly, except few cleaners who seem to be very cool and ignorant. I like the design of the Hotel which's very modern and posh. My room is on the 7th floor where there's a big balcony. If you have friends coming in the evening, all of you could enjoy the stunning night view of the City. The room is quite spacious that you have enough space for enjoying. Indeed, there're many other hotels choices for you to decide, although the Clark is obviously an ideal one.

A good hotel, well situated close to castle and citadel. Very easy transport to centre/ other attractions by tram or bus, stops within 5 minutes walk. Rooms very comfortable, breakfast was fine, staff helpful, a great value stay. No problems at all.

Monastery Boutique Hotel Budapest

We stayed for a week recently and thought the hotel was excellent. All the staff were really friendly, the chap on reception (possibly called Vincente?) was super helpful, simply couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was good and plentiful. A good choice of foods with some rotation during the week. The breakfast room staff were very polite and welcoming. (I question the review around breakfast not having much and saying they went at 9:30, not sure what they expect with 30 minutes to go? Get up earlier!) Rooms are a good size, are very well kept and cleaned every day (as you'd expect but some hotels don't!). I had my birthday whilst away and when we got back to the room on the evening of my birthday there was an ice bucket with a bottle of bubbly and 2 glasses waiting along with a birthday card! They must have got my birthday from my passport! What a lovely gesture. The hotel is situated in a quiet part of Budapest, on the Buda side and near to the Castle District. It's only 5 minutes walk to the Chain Bridge / Clark Adam Square where you cross over the Danube into the Pest side of the city. At the time of writing pedestrians can't walk over the bridge but you can get any of the buses from Clark Adam Square for FREE if you're just getting off at the first stop. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again without question.
InterContinental Budapest, an IHG Hotel

We stay here when on business in Budapest, and usually don't have problems but staying in 315 recently we were put next to people having a party in 317, it was really noisy, some kind of last night in Budapest flight crew thing. Why would you put business people next to party people? It just made no sense. We got moved for the night to a quieter suite on same floor, 323, which was great but the next day the front desk ”miscommunicated” us to the breakfast area to collect our breakfast boxes. Its puzzling. Overall the staff are super friendly and things usually go without a hitch and on that basis I would recommend. I really hope standards aren't slipping as it would be a shame.

Best Time to Travel to Budapest

Rich history, beautiful parks, stunning architecture, underground bars, and centuries-old thermal baths — all this and much is what makes up Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Budapest is made up of two cities bisected by the Danube river — Buda on the west side is hilly, while Pest (pronounced “pesht”) on the east is flat. The cities were merged in the 19th century, with the resulting city almost being named Pestbuda. There was a third city — Óbuda — that was merged with the others in 1873. The 19th-century Chain Bridge was the first stone-bridge connecting Buda and Pest. The historical separation also gave Buda and Pest have distinct identities. Buda is home to grand residential areas and Buda Castle, whereas Pest is a favourite among party people and is known for its ruin bars. The best times to visit Budapest are spring or autumn — March to May or September to November, respectively. Apart from the pleasant weather, the city isn’t overcrowded and, therefore, prices are within budget. Though the summer months — June to August — see a lot of tourists, the heat and excessive crowd may make for an uncomfortable trip. During the winter months there are barely any tourists because the weather is very chilly and public most attractions are shut.

Airport in Budapest

Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, also known as Ferihegy, is the main international airport serving Budapest. It is also the largest of Hungary’s four commercial airports. The airport is equipped with services such as restaurants and cafés, duty free shops, ATMs, currency exchange and tourist information counters. For getting to Budapest from Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, you can take a taxi, bus or rent a car. A taxi ride costs around £27. If you don’t want to hire a taxi, you can take a bus. Board the 100E Airport Bus. A ticket costs £2.5. There is also a 24/7 bus service, 200E, whose ticket costs around £1. However, it takes longer than 100E to reach the city centre. Your other option could be to rent a car from the numerous rental agencies at Terminal 2B.

The cost consists of a base charge of £0.9. Since Budapest has a good public transportation system, you can opt for buses, trolleys, and trams. If you are over 65 years and from an EU country, all public transport in Budapest is free for you. For others, the fare is £0.9. For directions, rely on Google Maps or download the BKK FUTÁR app, operated by the Center for Budapest Transport.
