Dorothea Hotel, Budapest, Autograph Collection Reviews

My experience with this hotel was terrible. Absolutely arrogant attitude of employees. They have also charged us twice for one of the rooms and didn’t commit to the mistake. Only via the phone they have apologized and said they will fix everything, but via email they never did. During breakfast I had to ask three times for our table to be cleaned from previous people and staff was walking like they are in their sleep.

Excellent location in the city center near river. Clean hotel with excellent service from hotel staffs.

The hotel staff is unfriendly. We stayed for 5 consecutive days and were not allowed to check out for 1 hour later. The breakfast service is slow and poor. It takes half an hour to order an omlet. There are not many breakfast options. The taste is very average, but the price is not cheap. Many small details make the guests feel not warm at all.

It was truly a wonderful stay.

We were checked in by Fanni and Szabo Katalin. They have beautiful rooms that were comfortable and the lobby has very comfortable couches to relax. Breakfast was very good. It was extremely busy there. We loved the location as we were one block from the river. We enjoyed going next door to visit Maddame Tussaud's museum. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this Marriott Dorothea hotel.

The amenities are first class, and so are the staff. The experience was outstanding! …..From arrival to departure. It made the visit to Budapest all the more special. Breakfast was one of the best I ever had. Mathew made sure all our needs were catered for at the highest level. Thank you Mathew!!! When we visit again…. there is only one hotel for us. The others don’t compare. I cannot recommend this Dorothea Hotel high enough.

A Beautiful Hotel located in the heart of Budapest. I would absolutely stay again. It was a treat. Everyone we encountered in the hotel was very kind and helpful. We asked for a softer/flatter pillow and one was brought up right away. We had an inside/courtyard facing view and it had a balcony - the best! My aunt and uncle had an outside room and liked ours with the balcony a lot more.

We chose this newer boutique hotel in District 5 and it was a great choice. The location is fantastic. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and the Danube. The room was spacious, modern, and had a balcony. Just beautiful. Upon arrival, we dined at Anton. Service was great and our meals delicious. We subsequently had our night caps at Anton during our stay. We also enjoyed the breakfast. It was fresh and the options were amazing. All in all, I would recommend and will stay here again if I return to Budapest.

The hotel and location were excellent, modern and stylish, the staff were charming and friendly with adults and children, the rooms were comfortable and very clean. We stayed two nights (4 adults / 4 children) and I would definitely come back to this hotel when I visit Budapest again if my budget allows and also recommend others.

Beautiful hotel located conveniently in the heart of the city on the Pest side. Rooms and common areas are very, very nice. We stayed here for two nights and highly recommend. The staff was super friendly and helpful. It was a wonderful experience.

Everything was amazing just as first time. We got an upgrade again to a large room with a nice view, for which we are very grateful. The check-in was smooth and professional and everybody was helpful and kind. The breakfast was amazing in the Atrium, which we liked the first time already. There was a small issue with some confusion regarding the breakfast price and we felt a bit harassed by the staff, as they approached us 4 times during breakfast until the issue was resolved (turned out that they got us confused with other guests from another room), but it didn't take away anything form our enjoyment.
