Stoneborough House B&B

My husband and I live in Budleigh but had to move into Stoneborough house whilst major internal works were completed on our home The atmosphere was warm, friendly, welcoming-nothing was too much trouble The room we stayed in (Wisteria) was beautiful -spotlessly clean, very comfortable, huge bed and wonderful underfloor heated ensuite bath and walk in shower. Huge TV plus tea coffee making and as much fresh water or fresh milk as you wanted In addition to the normal packets of biscuits you were left extra goodies every day-fresh home made cakes, and little treats Honestly this was akin to a 5 star hotel not a 5 star B and B There was a conservatory and lovely lounge for residents Furnished beautifully throughout. Break fast was a feast , and perfect eggs every time ! We could come and go as we needed, no restrictions No noise , and walking distance from beach and town for anyone who does not know Budleigh, plus close to bus stops for travel to Sidmouth or Exmouth Mr Mrs Hislop were on hand at all times for anything-nothing was too much trouble. Simply cannot recommend it highly enough

Stayed here 2 nights with family who have stayed before. It has to be the best B&B we have ever stayed in, the attention to detail was incredible and the owners were so sociable and friendly. We stayed in the very large Wisteria room which had a super comfy king size bed, two armchairs, a wide selection of teas/coffees/biscuits, a great bathroom with a lovely bath and a generous walk-in corner shower. The breakfasts were excellent with a great choice of fruit juices, cereals, yoghurts and fruit plus of course several cooked dishes. The whole house is beautifully furnished and decorated in keeping with the period of the property. Whilst we didn't go into the gardens the view from our room showed a large, well-kept rear garden with mature shrubs, trees and borders. 5* all the way!

Absolutely superb. Easily the best holiday accommodation we have EVER experienced. 5 star plus. The room was immaculate, furnished with everything you would wish for. The homemade cakes were fantastic. The breakfasts were out of this world. Hosts were caring and full of advice and suggestions to make our holiday even better. Guests' lounge was a wonderful additional comfort to the 'normal' b and b, as was the conservatory overlooking bee hives!! Kettle always seemed at the ready. A truly fabulous holiday, in wonderful surroundings and cared for by generous and thoughtful hosts. Cannot wait to return.

Upon arrival we received a warm welcome from George and Kathryn who gave us lots of local information and treated us to tea and homemade cake. Stoneborough is a beautiful property which is well situated for a short walk to the seafront or the river otter estuary. We stayed in the Wisteria room which can only be described as immaculate in every sense. The extra little touches comprising of homemade caked and little treats left in your room every day make the stay memorable. The choice for breakfast, the quality of the ingredients, the homemade preserves and the cooking were like everything else, outstanding. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending Stoneborough and the wonderful short stay we had. Gill & Neil

We like to visit Budleigh at least once a year and have stayed at this excellent b and b for the past four years. The rooms are super comfortable and the breakfast sets you up for the day.
