Chameleon Hill Forest Lodge ★★★★
"We stayed here for 3 nights with our two (30 year old nephews) and friends on our 2 week tour of primate tracking. The property sits on a mountain at 6000 feet, overlooking Lake Mutanda. One day we did some mountain biking from the lodge. It is quite challenging. One Day 2, our guides drove us two hours to do the Golden Monkey Tracking. Another incredible experience. Our final day, some of us had Spensa take us out on the boat. We did some birding and exploring. Our nephews took out the kayaks. The food is delicious. Phiona was always there willing to assist in anyway. They do a phenomenal job cleaning your boots and gaiters. Charles is always checking in to see if you need anything. We had one of the best rooms (14). Our friends were in the attached room (13). We could hear them at times through the door BUT as far as the sunrises - these are the best rooms. BUT BEWARE, these rooms are a long, uphill to the lodge itself. Our friends had Rooms 9 & 10 but the sunrises weren’t as good. Rooms were spotless and the shower was the best for our entire 2 weeks in Uganda."
Kisoro comfort Inn
"I had an absolutely delightful stay at Kisoro Comfort Inn and would recommend it to anyone visiting the Kigezi. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome. They were friendly, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure I was comfortable. One of the highlights was the food, the on-site restaurant serves delicious local cuisine freshly prepared and full of natural flavor. The breakfast was generous and satisfying, a great way to start the day. I'll definitely be back!"
Rushaga Gorilla Lodge ★★★
"The view from the balcony is just great, you have the entire Bwindi Impenetrable Forest at your feet. I sit in my wooden chair and listen to the jungle sound. The service here is not that great, they try, but the menu was kind of poor. The villas are the main attraction for sure, people come here for the view, not for the food. As it was cold in the room they places under the sheets a hot water bottle bag. the bed was 2m wide, the water bag was 20 cm in the middle of the bed :) anyway they have extra blankets, but it's not comfortable. But you are within a distance of just 15 minutes’ walk away from the gorilla tracking starting point. The resort is build on 6 acres of jungle, so this is why you want to stay here. Enjoy!"
Bwindi Orugano Lodge ★★★
"We can wholeheartedly recommend the Lodge. Bob and his team are wonderful. All staff made us feel at home. The service was topnotch, the food was very tasty. The view from the rooms are breathtaking. If ever I will come back, I will stay there. Thank you again for all the help Bob."
Gorilla Safari Lodge ★★★★
"I was a solo traveler, and I felt so comfortable in the lodge. The place itself is absolutely amazing, breathtaking view, staff is kind, professional, friendly, always there to greet with a smile and assist with anything and everything. The food was delicious. :) I had dinner one night, and they made it so special, they arranged flowers, saying good evening in my language. :) Also, in the evening, if you feel cold, they will make a fire in your room, which is so soothing, and they even leave a cute heating pad in your room to sleep comfortably. All in all, really amazing experience, nothing to complain about, and highly recommended."
Mutolere Coffee Pot Guest Houses ★★★
"I went with the University of Connecticut Global Medicine Team. The setting is beautiful with birds awakening us every morning. The breakfasts were superb with fruit, eggs. French toast, native honey, warm rolls coffee and tea. The support from staff was excellent with help in cleaning rooms and laundry. The rooms were spacious and comfortably furnished (mosquito netting for all beds). The Stone House has a library, fireplace, comfortable seating; it is a pleasant gathering place. The gardens are spectacular. For the group of physicians working in the adjacent hospital and nursing school this guest house could not have been better."
Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge ★★★★
"Me and wife stayed at this hotel for 1 night during our trip to Uganda. This hotel, which served as a base to go on the wonderful gorillas trekking in Bwindi is set on a nice forest environment. We were given half a hut (huts here comprise two bedrooms), a fairly large room with a toilet and a balcony, overlooking the “impenetrable forest”. The hotel also has a fairly good WiFi everywhere, which is surprising, given the location. The hotel has a nice restaurant, where we ate dinner and breakfast, preparing for the trekking. The staff was always helpful, which made our stay very comfortable."
Santaviva Hotel ★★★★
"Honestly the best place to stay in the whole of Kisoro! Ivan makes sure you will get the most out of your experience by taking you to some hidden gems, and will help with everything you need. Besides, the hotel is spacious with both inside and outside areas to sit, warm and comfy, and it has a nice restaurant too."
Kaara Gorilla Mountain Lodge
"My stay at Kaara Mountain Gorilla Lodge was exactly what I needed. The lodge sits with stunning, uninterrupted views of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Waking up to that misty forest and the mountains in the distance is unforgettable. What stood out most was the peace and quiet. The area is incredibly calm, with only the sounds of birds and nature around you. It’s the kind of place that instantly gives you relaxation and peace of mind the moment you arrive. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with hot showers, good beds, and reliable staff service. For the price, the value is excellent — you get a premium experience without overpaying. Perfect for unwinding after gorilla trekking. Highly recommend for couples, solo travelers, and anyone visiting Bwindi. I’ll definitely be back. Stayed: November 2025 Name: Paul"
