We stayed in Kings Cross a lovely lovely room in The Railway, which we found by accident when looking for accommodation in Burnham Market. Newly refurbished with massive attention to detail it's luxurious and understated. Go while you can as I suspect it's going to become very popular.

We stayed in Kings Cross - a very comfortable room but rather small for 2 medium sized people! The room itself was well appointed, bed comfortable, good quality sheets and pillows - however the bathroom was tiny and with a basin so small that it was impossible to fill the kettle (resorted to filling glasses of water and pouring them in!) and my husband had great difficulty in managing to shave or even wash hands. Ditto the toilet - would not suit anyone large! An interesting concept, but impractical for a lot of people.

Stayed 3 nights in the Piccadilly Circus room, beautifully decorated although slightly on the small side. Having never booked this type of accommodation before (i.e. a cottage) although shared with other guests found the lack of staff a bit strange. No one to greet you and you have to find your own room. However saying that it was very peaceful and only a 5-10 minute walk to the village centre. The Nelson pub is about a 5 min walk away and would recommend. There is no breakfast or any other catering. There is an honesty bar but a bit pricey. Burnham Market is a lovely quiet village setting but you will need transport to get out and about.

My husband, dog and myself stayed in The Railway Carriage as a treat for my birthday and what a treat it was. It was absolutely beautiful and everything was luxurious and high quality with special attention to detail. The copper sink is gorgeous and the huge shower wonderful. The garden is a great place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. Barefoot Retreats provided a superb service and we will be definitely booking with them again.
