Unfortunately, the lodge was far from what we expected, we didn’t expect a palace, but upon walking through the front door, the carpets were stained, curtains were stained, dead spiders in the windowsills, burn marks around the dining table, the table all chipped and broken at the bottom of one of the legs, coffee table broken, fridge not working - milk smelt off the next morning, the shower and bedrooms mould in corners and around edges of the ceiling, the shower falling to pieces bits stuck back on with tape, toilet seat hanging on by 1 fixing, foisty smell in living room and kitchen, sewer smell in the bathroom. Damp and foist smell on the bedroom. None of it was clean, but we didn’t let this ruin our weekend. We just spent our time out of the lodge rather than in it which was disappointing. The hot tub was nice, but again water didn’t look like it was changed for us from the previous guests. I escalated all my concerns to the people who text me check in details and was having responses regarding getting in and out of the complex, as soon as I sent the message regarding all the issues we had I was ignored and blocked. Appalling service from them which is a shame as the lodge is located in a great area, very close to Scarborough front. Gorgeous local pubs (we loved the 3 Jolly Sailors) apart from that we wouldn’t stay in lodge 47 again.
