I booked a three-night stay as a solo traveler. When I checked in, pretty late, around 11 PM, the receptionist was displeased and ask why I arrived this late, I found that out of place, then I got a room I disliked, for one night wouldn’t be a problem, but it was a three-night stay. I politely asked if it would be possible to change to a room with a better arrangement, but the staff told me it was too late at night to make any changes. I was told to come back in the morning and promised they would try to arrange a better room.
When I went to ask again, the older male receptionist was extremely rude and disrespectful. As a woman in my 20s traveling alone, I found his behavior very uncomfortable. Instead of trying to help, he immediately told me I would have to pay extra money just to change rooms, even though the previous staff member had told me something different.
When I tried to communicate and asked if he spoke English so I could translate more easily (since English is not widely spoken here), he became aggressive and even more disrespectful. I don’t understand how someone with this attitude can work in the hospitality industry.
The condition of the room was also very poor. There were many stains on the walls, the bathroom lighting did not work, there is no space to shower, and the balcony floor had trash on it. Basic items like garbage bags and tissues were not provided.
What was even more shocking is that despite these issues, they still had the audacity to mention extra cleaning fees and additional charges, while the room itself was clearly not properly maintained.
I booked and paid for three nights and expected a decent experience. Normally, when a guest stays multiple nights, you would expect at least some level of care or service. Instead, I felt treated worse than a one-night guest.
I was originally considering extending my stay, but the attitude of the older male receptionist completely changed my mind. Because of this experience, I will definitely not stay here again.
