This hotel, chosen for our visit to Pingyao Ancient City, is about a 10-minute drive from the city center. Parking is free at the entrance, and check-in and check-out were quick. Since the hotel faces the street, I was wary of the noise, and the front desk even provided earplugs. The service was excellent. The hotel appeared clean, and the facilities were quite new. The air conditioning was a bit warm, but we opened the windows and turned on the ventilation system at night to cool it down, though the airflow was a bit loud. The bed was quite comfortable. Overall, I was quite satisfied with my stay. There aren't many good restaurants near the hotel, so for local specialties, it's best to look for them in the ancient city itself. The places are crowded and require a long queue, and if you're late, they'll be sold out. It's usually more convenient to take a taxi to the ancient city, as parking is difficult unless you arrive early. We arrived around 1 p.m. and drove around in traffic for an hour before finding an informal parking lot that charged 20 yuan for unlimited parking.
