⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly Recommended! Comfortable Stay & Excellent Service
I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The location is perfect, just a short walk from a shopping mall and several small food shops—super convenient for dining and quick errands.
The staff were amazing—very friendly and accommodating. A male staff member who spoke English kindly helped carry my luggage to the room, which was a great help. I was also pleasantly surprised to receive a free room upgrade to a bigger space with a unique, wide bed. The room was very clean, cozy, and comfortable.
Breakfast was good, with enough variety to start the day well. The hotel also has several photo-worthy spots inside, including a peaceful mini garden, which added a relaxing touch to the whole experience.
Before I checked out, they even gave me a small gift, which was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture.
Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and felt very well taken care of. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for great service, a clean room, and a convenient location. I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel location is great, and there's plenty of parking. Lots of dining options nearby, especially for late-night snacks. It's also convenient overall, so I'd recommend it! There's a Gangli Soup Dumpling place nearby that's absolutely amazing (yyds), highly recommend!

Guest UserI chose this hotel because it was conveniently located beside the Shanhaiguan Railway Station. The literary theme created a pleasant environment and all the facilities were good quality. There was a good selection of hot and cold food at the breakfast buffet, including western style bread and cerials. The staff all had a translator app on their phones, which allowed me to communicate with them in English.

Guest UserThe hotel facilities are quite new, and for this price, it offers great value for money. The large indoor hot tub is a real highlight. Breakfast selection was decent, but I'd suggest adding more Western options, even if it meant a slight price increase. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic and helpful. The coffee from the coffee shop at the entrance was delicious! Overall, a very pleasant stay. Highly recommended!

Guest UserThis was my first time booking this hotel, and it had its pros and cons. Let's start with the good things. The hotel environment is nice, and all the facilities are new. Although it's not huge, it has everything you need. The room was quite spacious and clean, which was perfectly fine for a business traveler like me. The breakfast was excellent, and I really have to commend it – I wish I could've eaten more if I hadn't been rushing for my flight. There's also a small gym where I managed to get a workout in. Overall, my stay was pretty good.
Now for the downsides. The hotel's location is a big problem. There's absolutely nothing around, so if you want to eat out, you have to travel quite a distance, at least a 15-minute taxi ride. Eating out was genuinely inconvenient. The hotel does have a Chinese restaurant and a Japanese restaurant, but after checking the menu, the prices were generally much higher. There are no shops nearby if you want to grab a meal or do some window shopping. I had looked at the location for a long time, but I never expected dining to be so troublesome.

Guest UserThe location is fantastic, perfect for relaxing and taking a stroll. You can easily walk or bike to Qinhuang Alley without needing a car. Location has always been Shangri-La's strong suit, which is why even if the facilities are a bit dated, I still prioritize staying here when I travel. While the facilities are a little old, they are well-maintained. The cleanliness is acceptable. The environment is absolutely wonderful. I even caught a wedding during my two-day stay. Since I was just relaxing anyway, I spent the whole morning watching from the balcony – congratulations to the happy couple! Breakfast was mediocre, crowded and chaotic, and the food was just so-so. The service was okay.

An older hotel, but the facilities are still complete and the room was pretty clean. You can't expect too much from an old hotel. It's best to take a Didi (ride-hailing service) from the station; don't just jump into a shared ride, you might get ripped off. It's just outside the city wall, and I personally think staying here is more comfortable than inside the wall. Among the performances, only the iron flower show is worth seeing, but you absolutely need to get there early to secure a good spot, otherwise, you won't be able to watch. The commercial streets are all pretty much the same!

When checking in, all the staff at the front desk (at least four) were not very kind, not enthusiastic at all, mechanical, and it was obvious that there was a lack of training and disorderly. During the processing process, I asked me to pay a 200 deposit. I said that the food bar in the room was charged. I was afraid that the guests would not pay for it. I decisively refused and clearly told me that I would not eat. The staff at the front desk immediately changed their faces from mechanical processing to ignoring... I just made do with it for one night. What to say, I found out that the room next door was a wedding room. It would be very noisy early the next morning. In order to rest well, I asked for a room change. A staff member who changed the room for me made me feel like a spring breeze. It should be a deputy manager at the front desk (this kind of hotel position can't be so detailed, I have the impression that the badge shows this position), and I didn't have time to ask the name. Not only did I actively solve the problem, but also gave me two breakfasts, and the attitude was very good. To be honest, if it weren't for this staff, I wouldn't have five-star praise. I hope the hotel can praise this staff well.

First time staying at this hotel, and it was a pleasant experience avoiding the crowds. The breakfast buffet had a limited variety, but the taste was decent. The late-night snack options were a bit monotonous. The room was clean, and the service was good. I just wish there were more breakfast options. It's quite convenient for ordering takeout.

There are touts outside the hotel and train station. Cab is around 10 rmb to the hotel from station. Touts will charge 20rmb. Touts will ask u to go to the further great wall at 20 rmb. Then when u are there they will aggressively tell u that it's difficult to get a cab. They will try to bring you to further places or get u to book them for a day for 100 rmb. Avoid! They will be rude when U want to go with your itinerary and they drive recklessly. There seems to be a gang of them outside. The hotel is a bit run down and needs some maintenance. The shower handle was falling off. So is the lift railings. Other than that it is clean. supper and breakfast was disappointing if u are from Malaysia or Singapore.
