Matsuyama Business Hotels

"You can think of this hotel as a 'plus' version of a domestic Orange Hotel Crystal. The decor is that of a five-star hotel, but the price is that of a business hotel. The renovations were clearly done with great care, and the breakfast across all their locations maintains a consistent standard. They all feature a free rooftop hot spring bath with a view. I've stayed at various Candeo hotels in different locations, and overall, the bathroom facilities at the Ehime branch feel a bit old; I suspect it's an older hotel that was renovated without updating the bathrooms. In winter, since the windows don't open for ventilation, a lot of condensation builds up. At night, when there's a lot of condensation, it drips down the walls, leading to mold in those areas. This results in a musty smell when you first enter the room. It must also be quite a hassle for the cleaning staff to deal with the condensation in every room daily. What I disliked most was the lack of a duvet cover; a single sheet separates you from the duvet. I've only encountered this at the Ehime and Kagoshima branches, perhaps it's a local custom… there's nothing much one can do about it. Everything else was great."

"nice hotel in the city center. very close to Okaido shopping street gallery and walking distance to the castle entry. Only 4/5 tram stops away from Dogo station. Room is small, bed is good (we took a single room for 2 persons). The bed is wide enough for 2. Free coffee downstairs. Laundry machine only 300¥ on 2nd floor. Nice staff. Affordable hotel."

"Outstanding location, easy walking distance to the JR train station, so your access out for island day trips like Kashima or Gogoshima is easily sorted. Of course it's also close to Matsuyama Castle, the nearby park, and to other public transport. The hotel is very clean, the staff is very friendly. No native English speakers, but they were good enough at communication that check in and check out were completely without issue. The bath robes in the room were a nice touch."

"Amazing accommodation nearby key tourist sites and shopping areas in Matsuyama. It’s a 5-minute walk to the Okaido shotengai and 10 minutes to the ropeway/cable car station for Matsuyama Castle. Dogo Onsen is a 15-20 minute tram ride away. The rooms are clean, well-kept, and decently sized (by Japanese standards). The staff are courteous and professional. The breakfast is fantastic with many different options."

"Good location. The hotel locates near Matsuyama City Tram Station where is also the terminal station of airport bus. Matsuyama port is just 20 minutes train ride away. One may walk up to the Matsuyama Castle from the hotel within 40 minutes. The castle tram station and the Okaido shopping area are also within walking distance. Staff were friendly with satisfactory services and amenities. However it was always crowded at breakfast time. Be reminded it's Matsuyama City Station but not the JR Matsuyama Station (JR)."
