"Pros: The location is excellent, with plenty of halal dining options nearby and a small shopping mall just a few minutes’ walk away. The hotel is conveniently located about 25 minutes from the Mini Zoo and only 10 minutes from Desaru Beach. The room rates are affordable, and we were pleasantly surprised to receive a connecting room, which we greatly appreciated. The room was also clean and comfortable. Cons: One major inconvenience was that the refrigerator automatically switched off whenever we left the room. After spending a long, hot day outdoors, it was disappointing to return and find our drinks no longer cold. On our first night, we requested an extra towel and toothbrush set since there were three guests in the room. Unfortunately, the items were not delivered, even after we followed up at the front desk. There was also no floor mat provided. Thankfully, our experience improved the next day thanks to Zamre at the front desk. He was friendly, helpful, and made sure we received everything we needed. He also ensured our room was ready by 1 PM. Zamre’s excellent service truly stood out and made a positive difference to our stay. He is probably the main reason we would choose to return to Fives Desaru on our next visit. Overall, the hotel offers good value for money, and with improvements in housekeeping responsiveness, the experience would be even better."

"The atmosphere when we first came into this homestay is excellent, so does the facilities provided for use during our stay. The interaction with the property owner when we ask questions to them are answered in a quick and precise manner. Overall. I would recommend others to book this stay if they are interested in it."

"The facilities i can say is very good for a small hotel. Very proper system. Its just that the management might have to improve on checking the facilities. When i was there the hot water arent that hot and the entrance lamp in my room actually not working. Room 115 so management please take note on this. We paid for breakfast and they serve us maggi goreng on first day and nasi goreng on second day (need to check the quality too as for me its quite tasteless). Asal ada punya breakfast la I would say. There’s room for improvement!!"

"It wasn't a very pleasant experience. Check-in wasn't possible immediately, and customer service was unresponsive; it took a while to get through. Hopefully, they can improve on this. Otherwise, not bad to stay in."

"The staying experience and cleanliness were good. However, I was unable to connect to the WiFi throughout my stay. I contacted the person in charge, but they were unable to provide a timely solution. Due to the lack of internet connectivity, I missed important information related to my class. By the time my class ended, the person in charge only replied that we had tried but still unable to resolve the WiFi issue till we check out time. Inside the room, my Maxis also no connection, unable to use hotspot at all."

"The apartment was relatively clean, spacious, and comfortable. We stayed as a group of three and had plenty of space, so I don't think accommodating up to five guests would be an issue. The location is also convenient, with key attractions such as Desaru Coast and Desaru Fruit Farm only a 10 to 15-minute Grab ride away. There are also plenty of food options nearby, including a pasar malam with live band performances. However, the check-in experience was frustrating. Customer service appears to be responsive mainly through WhatsApp, but this was never communicated to guests beforehand. We spent quite a bit of time trying to call the property, which delayed our check-in unnecessarily. If guests were informed in advance that WhatsApp is the preferred communication channel, the process would have been much smoother. Overall, the stay itself was comfortable, but the communication and check-in process could definitely be improved."

"Excellent location for business travelers in the Desaru area. The homestay is strategically situated close to main roads and local commercial hubs, making daily commuting highly efficient. The neighborhood is peaceful, providing a quiet environment to catch up on work after hours. Highly recommended for corporate stays"
