BingTaoI had an excellent stay at G Hotel Gurney in the Executive Suite. The suite was spacious, modern, and beautifully maintained, with a comfortable bed and a great view. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Penang.
The hotel’s location is fantastic, right next to Gurney Plaza and within walking distance of many popular eateries. The staff were professional, friendly, and always willing to assist, making the entire stay even more enjoyable.
The Executive Lounge was a great addition, offering a quiet and comfortable space to unwind with complimentary refreshments. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide selection of local and international dishes.
Overall, everything from the room quality to the service exceeded my expectations. I would definitely choose G Hotel Gurney again on my next visit to Penang and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and luxurious stay.

Guest UserLocated in the city center, it's very convenient for transportation. Right outside, you'll find the famous Pasar Lebuh Cecil (highly recommend the duck kway teow soup), and there are many other great eateries nearby. It's also a very short taxi ride to attractions like the Clan Jetties and Mural Street, and you can walk to First Avenue Mall for shopping and currency exchange. The room is quiet and comfortable, with relatively new facilities overall. There's also a small swimming pool and a gym. The staff are very friendly!
Thank you for the upgrading for our 15th wedding anniversary celebration. It is truly a memorable and wonderful trip for us. The female staff who assisted with our check-in and check-out was very nice!

JanicatseThe hotel is situated in a good location, where the good foods surrounded us. The service by the staff were great too, we got early check in and late check out. The breakfast at level 1 was more in variety than the club access, but we appreciated the quietness and privacy. We didn’t manage to enjoy much of the club as we were out most of the time. We also grabbed food and it was a great experience. That said my complaints were the facilities - in particular the shower. The bathtub was small, the bathroom was so small. The water pressure is weak so I really didn’t like the entire bathroom experience. Do hope the hotel can do something to renovate it next time.

Anonymous UserThough the hotel name suggests luxury, we don't feel it at all. Our entrance to the room is next to an electrical room with door ajar and facing a boom of hot air from the several aircon compressors each time we arrive at the room door, avoid room 505 if possible. We came early at 2-3pm and were yet given such a room.
The bathroom has no shower curtain, couldn't feel relaxed as we tried to avoid wetting the bathroom where there is dressing, basin and toilet. The toilet seat is not aligned with toilet bowl, it's too small for the toilet bowl, the tap for the basin is shaky, must hold with both hands to stabilise it. It feels like using a public toilet.
The advantage is the location, a self service laundromat near the lift lobby on the ground floor.

I had a great stay at this hotel and felt it offered outstanding value for money. The loft-style room was unique, spacious and one of the highlights of my stay, with a nice city view overlooking the surrounding buildings and streets. I especially liked the loft area, which doubled as a cozy workspace.
Cleanliness was excellent throughout the room. The bathroom was spotless, with fresh towels/bathrobe and quality toiletries provided. The bed was comfortable, and the linens and pillows were fresh and clean. Wi-Fi was reliable, and all the room facilities—including the air conditioning, hot water, and water pressure—worked perfectly.
The location is another major advantage. There are plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby within walking distance, along with shopping malls. Most of the street attractions is just a short stroll away, making it an ideal location for sightseeing.
What really completed the experience was the excellent service. The staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming, and the reception team handled both check-in and check-out efficiently. From the day i arrived at the hotel doorsteps greeted by the door man, to an excellent room service and housekeeping, and most of all the front desk service which deserve special recognition.
I would happily to come back for staying here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Penang

JASON_YONGThe hotel's location is good, and the room was quite comfortable. However, the service needs improvement. I stayed for 3 nights, and each morning before heading out, I pressed the button for room cleaning. Yet, when I returned to my room at 3 PM, it hadn't been cleaned, and the towels hadn't been replaced. This was a very unpleasant experience. I had to call the front desk 2-3 times before an employee came up to clean the room, which really affected my travel mood and overall stay.

Anonymous UserThe hotel has two buildings, A and B. It's very convenient to find your room as a bellboy will guide you, and we really appreciate them helping us with our luggage.
Disposable toothbrushes and combs are not provided directly in the room; you need to ask for them at the front desk. Remember to get them when you check in if you need them.
There's a water dispenser in the hallway with hot and cold water.
There's a swimming pool on the 4th floor of Building B. I stayed on a weekday, so there weren't many people during the day, and the water was quite clear.
There's also another Citadines nearby, so make sure your navigation doesn't lead you to the wrong one.
The hotel entrance is not on a main road, so there isn't much traffic, and it's a one-way street. It's quite convenient for getting a taxi or getting in and out of cars. I passed by the other one, and it seemed a bit noisy being on a main road.
The room can be a bit narrow; if you open two 20-inch suitcases at the same time, they noticeably block the way.
It's very close to food places and attractions. The second picture is a breakfast coffee shop highly recommended by many on Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book), and the third picture is also a Xiaohongshu recommendation: duck noodle soup from a market (this market seems to have a seating fee, vendors selling main dishes don't have tables, only those selling coffee or drinks do).
Aside from the room being a bit small, overall, the stay was very comfortable, and I would still highly recommend it.

I mentioned that I will return in my stay less than 2 weeks ago and I did..yes I love Penang so much..touch wood..but seriously its due to the Merdeka month and lots of events I can visit complimentarily, and enchanting Penang didn't disappoint, location of hotel is superb to cater to my cuisine fix....but I need to highlight to Victoria Garden Hotel ....
..what's with the hair dryer ( refer pic)- why provide a wall -mounted hair dryer when it's not readily wall-mounted. I literally had to carry the dangling hair dryer with the wall bracket, refer picture pls..it's most comfortable and dangerous..the socket will break due to the weight..I saw sparks at the plug point( and the plug point is 2 - pin one..luckily mgt hv adaptor)..Anyway..the staff told me all the rooms' hair dryers are the same! Seriously..I think if you value the guests' comfort and safety, management of Victoria Garden should seriously mount it on the wall somehow , somewhere in the room.
Oh yes, the bathroom rain shower head was dripping from the top when I was using the hand- held shower..drip drip drip .
Also..may I know why no feedback from the management on the guests review.
Thank you very much Victoria Garden..
I'll be back ..maybe..

_oliverh_I didn’t really enjoy my stay here, I found the labyrinth of corridors could be confusing, and something off about the layout of the room. One of the neighbouring rooms had a party one night, so I didn’t get enough sleep; the location is alright, walking distance from anywhere in Georgetown, but nothing specific.
The breakfast was underwhelming in my opinion, lacking protein options - just the eggs really, frankfurters don’t count. I think I’ll try elsewhere in Penang if I go back.

rjttjrI had a pleasant stay at Summer Tree Hotel Penang. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and offers great value for money. The room was spacious, well maintained, and the bed was comfortable, making it a relaxing place to rest after exploring Penang.
The location is convenient, with plenty of local eateries, cafés, and popular attractions within a short drive or walking distance. The staff were friendly, helpful, and check-in/check-out was smooth.
One thing to note is that the walls are a little thin, so you may occasionally hear noise from neighboring rooms or the hallway. Parking can also be limited during busy periods.
Overall, it’s a great choice for travelers looking for an affordable, clean, and conveniently located hotel in George Town. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Penang.
