Palace Hotel & Spa ★★★★
"Great surroundings! The hotel is super close to the train station and has a traditional, old-world charm. The only downside is no air conditioning. Still, I'd choose to stay here again for a hiking trip!"
Buxton Crescent ★★★★
"Honestly, all the hotels in this small town are close to the attractions, but Crescent really is in the heart of it. The breakfast is good; try to go early to beat the crowd, definitely don't miss it. I found two blonde hairs in the room, but overall, the cleanliness was acceptable. I accidentally pulled the emergency alarm in the bathroom, but no one came to assist for over 8 minutes. I had to go to the front desk myself to ask a staff member to turn it off. If you're traveling with elderly people, please keep this in mind. Also, I highly recommend paying extra to use the spa facilities; otherwise, staying at this hotel wouldn't make much sense, as guests don't have access to the pool. Unfortunately, the Roman-style baths in the basement were under maintenance when I visited, and the indoor baths on the second floor were too stuffy, while the outdoor baths were so windy it gave me a headache."
YHA Ravenstor ★★★
"We took our girls youth group on a weekend residential. The building and grounds are beautiful. Everything was clean and tidy. A communal dining area and kitchen with everything provided was available to use. Hot chocolates were made and a lovely breakfast was provided. Rooms were clean and tidy and just perfect for us. I highly recommend staying here!"
Old Hall Hotel ★★★
"Nice hotel in a great location. Slept well and breakfast was really nice. Would stay here again"
Best Western Plus Buxton Lee Wood Hotel ★★★★
"We booked our stay as we were going to the Opera House on the Friday and decided to make a weekend of it. All of the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotlessly clean and having heating that worked was a great bonus! The breakfast choice was good - continental was a good range of cereals and yogurts, fruit; wholemeal and white sliced bread and toasters that worked :-) there was a good range of jams and spreads and freshly baked (cold) croissants - these were delicious. The first day I had the full English and my mum had the bacon and cheese oatcake. The food arrived piping hot and was good quality. The second morning we both just had bacon and poached eggs (the eggs were perfect!). On the Sat night we ate in the restaurant and again the service was excellent! I had the steak and ale pie which was delicious and the best pie steak pie I've had in years! My mum had a starter for her main as she wasn't that hungry - she went for the prawn and noodles. It was actually quite substantial. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for the excellent service and location - 10 min walk or a very cheap taxi ride into town or the station. My mum was having trouble walking so we had to get a taxi from the station (and back) and also to and from the Opera House - each journey was just £3.50. I would recommend using AtoZ cars."
Rooms at The Vault ★★★
"We booked to stay at The Vault and we was not disappointed. This is located 5 minutes walk away from Buxton town centre. Plenty of shops and restaurants close to this hotel. A local taxi rank is a short walk away and bus links are available. Lovely atmosphere from arrival and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The cozy room was clean and comfortable, very snug. The bathroom was very modern with an oral-b toothbrush charger built into the wall (which was very handy!). The noise level could be a slight issue for some due to being on a main road. Personally we didn’t mind. Our stay was amazing! Being close by to everything and a short walk from everywhere this is expected. The Vault Pub downstairs had some great grub and lovely drinks. We have already booked another stay for next year!"
Cosy Apartment above Village Pub ★★★★
Premier Inn Buxton ★★★
"Excellent mid week stay in this handy hotel for Buxton. Easy to find Cheap all day parking at a fiver ! Clean, tidy Welcoming reception and helpful staff Lovely clean room !"
The Queen's Head Hotel ★★★
"Stayed at the Queen's Head hotel over the weekend due to attending a concert at Buxton Opera House. We were really well looked after and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was clean , warm and welcoming. Whilst there is no on-site parking, there is parking in the market place only a minutes walk away which was easy to access. Thank you for an enjoyable stay."
