Presidential Suites Lifestyle Cabarete - Room Only ★★★★

📍 QH2W+5GW, Cabarete

"The hotel was incredible, and the employees were very attentive, the only thing is that it is quite far from the center of Puerto Plata and the airport. But, the Cabarete area is very good, since there is a lot of movement of foreigners and a lot of parties. As far as very good place is concerned. (PS: There is little Uber offer) If you go and there is an Uber with the name Ever, it is the best＜3"

📍 Calle Principal Carretera Cabarete-Sosua KM 14, Cabarete

"Terrible, definitely our worst trip to Cabarete. No one ever tells you when you make the reservation that there's construction going on next door from 8 am to 6 pm, and it sounds like a war zone. Completely unpleasant, not to mention the totally rude attitude of some of the staff. A real shame, the noise could drive anyone crazy."

Tropical Casa Laguna ★★★

📍 Calle principal, Cabarete

"Tropical Casa Laguna is a very relaxing and beautiful hotel. The rooms are tastefully decorated with woodgrain tile and comfortable beds, the pool area is huge and beautiful with a swim up bar, everything is extremely clean, there is a large on-sight parking lot, and it's centrally located in the heart of Cabarete. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, including the security guards at the front gate. It was a great stay!"

El Encuentro Surf Lodge ★★★

📍 Encuentro 57000, Cabarete

"Staying at El Encuentro surf lodge was exceptional. The location and access to surfing at the beach was terrific. The grounds were beautiful and the pool was nice. I took a yoga class which was great. The room was standard. Bed was comfortable. A/C and refrigerator were very useful. The breakfast every morning was lovely. Every dish I experienced at the restaurant on site was delicious. The only suggestion I would have is to offer more local cuisine. If you like food as much as I do, visit Wilson's in La Boca it is well worth the trip. I particularly wanted to emphasize how pleasant it was interacting with the staff. Every employee on the property was a delight. The people here were truly the highlight for me."

Hotel Villa Taina ★★★★
"Pros: beach front, easy access to the beach, tranquility around the lounge beach chairs. Friendly staff Cons: hotel is dated, shower was too small. There were cucarachas coming off the AC vents. Staff came to address it right away, however. There are not elevators and it is difficult to bring luggage to 2nd and 3rd floors. The place was not design for people with mobility issues. Also people are allowed with dogs unleashed. One small dog came after me. When I approach the dog’s owner to ask if he could put his dog on a leash, he became belligerent, disrespectful, and a kind of ******. The hotel staff watched and did nothing. When I ask for the manager to complaint I was told she was on vacation (?) when I ask for whoever was in charge, I was also told that person was also unavailable. It was frustrating and disappointing as that was a safety issue that remained unaddressed."

"The bathroom had no shampoo and the shower faucet is broken. The bed is comfortable and the room is nicely decorated. The cost of the meal is exaggerated."

Tropical Casa Laguna ★★★
"The hotel is very centrally located in Cabarete, and everything is within walking distance: cafes, restaurants, bars, and the long sandy beach. The hotel has two pools and a whirlpool. The gardens are very well-maintained, and the resort is very pleasant; there are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas for relaxing by the pool. The rooms are very bright and pleasantly furnished, the bed is very spacious, and each room has a large closet with a mirror. Each room has a terrace or balcony. The bathroom always has hot water for showering."

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham, A Trademark All Inclusive ★★★
"Horrible experience, refused to give me a refund. Waited 2 hours for a room. Claimed couldn’t find my reservation because of trip.com app. Food unedible. The only restaurant with decent food is on the resort property but for an extra charge. My family was separated and their room had no AC . No one ever came to fix it. Electric power was out at 4am, still at 9am no power available. No hot water ever. Only desserts were edible. Bread was hard , seating was limited , no extra seating available . Limited staff, the same person that greets you is the same working serving drinks at food court. Alcohol beverages watery . Gas station on front of resort , walked across the street to look for food to eat but only coffee, beer and chips available. Worst experience ever."

El Encuentro Surf Lodge ★★★
"Overall we had a very nice time. Some of the positives, the rooms are clean and as advertised. The restaurant is convenient and good food. The staff was all warm and accommodating. The surf school was great. And the location is nice, though I wish it was closer to the beach with views. The one big negative is that you are the mercy of the other guests as the resort is very compact. When we were there the was a big group that included many loud and inconsiderate guests. There were screaming children at late hours, and a group of poorly behaved kids around the pool being very disruptive. And one night a drunken crew was very loud during the night. While the hotel did enforce an 11 pm curfew, when you are getting up early to surf, that's a late night. We'll probably go back, but I'll be sure to ask about other guests that have booked."

Watermark Luxury Oceanfront Residences ★★★★
"This boutique style hotel is the perfect location for a large family/friend vacation. There are 4 floors with 2 2 bedroom/2bathroom apartments on each floor. The bedrooms are roomy and each apartment has a big ocean view balcony and full kitchen. The pool area is great with direct access to the beach. The staff, led by Bree and Francisco are very friendly, accommodating and professional. We hired private chefs to make breakfast and dinner every day which was the cherry on top of an amazing experience. We had the entire property to ourselves. We felt completely safe while there."
