Cairns Colonial Club Resort is a perfect place for a stay in Cairns. Staff is nice and friendly, swimming pools are great and restaurants give you good options for food. Rooms are a bit old and carpet has seen better days, but still acceptable and clean. I’ve read some bad reviews online but sometimes problems come from hosts, we should all be respectful, small effort would mean a better experience for everyone.

I stayed here for 3 nights.
I arrived on a morning flight and check-in was at 2pm, so I went to the hotel without any plans, and I was able to use the pool shower, which was very helpful.
The staff were very kind and smiled. However, the only hair dryer was in the room, so be careful.
The hotel has a pool, athletics, and even a ping pong table, and there are many plants, so you can enjoy just taking a short walk.
I stayed without meals, but the restaurant is open from the morning, so you can eat breakfast while looking at the view.
As for access, it is within 10 minutes by taxi from the airport or Cairns city, so I always used Uber.
If you want to play in Cairns city, it's better to stay in a hotel in the city, but I'm glad I chose this hotel because there is a lot of greenery.

The garden environment is quite good. The room and facilities are old. The bed is big. It is about 5.5 kilometers away from the city center and the boat terminal by taxi. It costs about 25 dollars by taxi.

There is a pool, but it is not clean. For some reason, it's always green because it's salty. Also, be careful as the pool is about 1.8m deep. Food level is average. The site is a little spacious and a small hotel with a total of 2 floors. There is no elevator so you have to carry heavy luggage by yourself. It's far from the city center so I always have to use UBER. Also, there is nothing around the hotel. The hotel's Wi-Fi is super slow and almost unusable, so mobile Wi-Fi is a necessity. Most of the customers were Australian, and I hardly saw any foreigners. It seems that it was overflowing with Chinese people before Corona. There is a sense of security because there are Japanese staff

Great for families, we stayed 2 nights and my kids were in the pool all day.
Parking was a bit of a challenge as the hotel was fully booked.
