For what we paid it’s what you expect for an all inclusive, as a whole we had a nice holiday. Got some sun and chilled out. The hotel is nice but confusing to get around at first but by the end of your first day you will know where everything is. The rooms are very basic but large could do with some decor. The food was alright got bored of it by the end of the week but that’s what you expect when you’re all inclusive. The staff were hit and miss some were helpful such as reception but the restaurant staff were a bit rude. The entertainment team were so nice always fun, anytime you saw them they would always say hi and try get everyone involved special shout out to mathius he was always the life around the hotel.

Honest Review: Unsafe, Unhygienic, Discriminatory inaccessible Hotel Palia Puerto del Sol, Cala d’Or, Mallorca This is the most disappointing and unsafe holiday I’ve ever experienced. I would strongly advise against booking this hotel, especially if you have dietary needs, mobility issues, or care about hygiene and basic safety. The hotel failed on every fundamental level — and I ended up ill with vomiting and diarrhoea, which I believe was directly linked to how the pool hygiene was handled. First Impressions When we arrived, the hotel looked okay on the surface. But within minutes, we saw signs of poor organisation and unfair treatment. Only one staff member was checking people in, and even though several guests were waiting, a Spanish couple were allowed to jump the queue and were checked in first. This set the tone for what felt like preferential treatment for certain guests throughout our stay. ⸻ ️ Rooms & Accessibility Our apartment was very dated, with uneven wooden flooring that felt unsafe — especially for me, as I have a mobility disability. The bathroom had no floor mat, making it very slippery. Although the room was cleaned daily, it was far from safe or accessible. I saw several elderly or disabled guests also struggling with the layout and stairs. The hotel is not suitable for guests with mobility needs. There are stairs everywhere, and steep pathways and although there’s one lift to the restaurant, staff repeatedly turned it off about a hour before mealtimes had finished, my opinion was they were not wanting people to go down to restaurant near closing time this forced elderly and disabled guests to use steep stairs. ️ Food & Hygiene: Dangerous Standards Food was one of the worst parts of this stay. Breakfast was always poor — burnt sausages, sloppy eggs, cold beans, and frozen-in-the-middle hash browns. The fryer oil was black, clearly not changed in days. I saw chefs handling food with bare hands, including one cooking churros in the same filthy oil just used for sausages. There were no allergen labels or ingredient signs anywhere — a huge problem, as my son is dairy-free and I have Crohn’s disease. Because of this, we had to eat at the nearby marina at extra cost, some days I just ate bread and crisp which isn’t acceptable. I raised the issue of cold and inedible food with the manager. His response? “I eat here and I like it.” No apology, no action, and my complaint wasn’t logged. I also saw multiple guests reheating their food in a microwave, which speaks volumes about the kitchen standards. ⸻ Serious Health Incident After Pool Contamination I personally witnessed faeces in the pool, and immediately reported it to staff. Shockingly, it took them over 40 minutes to act. Guests were left swimming in it, and staff seemed unconcerned. The next day I saw a staff member cleaning scum from the side of the pool while people were still in the water — again, completely inappropriate. Two days later, I became unwell

We had a brilliant time here. Definitely would recommend the sea view rooms. Rooms were very big and clean. The staff were all very friendly. Lots of steps but - especially getting the suitcases up to the room! Would definitely go back. Perfect location.

I’ve been amazed reading some of these reviews - but then you will always find people who complain about everything! We have just returned from a week’s stay at the Palia Puerto de Sol and have had the most wonderful holiday. Don’t go expecting 5* luxury - you aren’t paying for that. Go expecting a lovely hotel, amazing staff and to make the most of this fantastic find. We arrived at 1:15am. Being offered a meal at that time of night, as there was food provided in the restaurant for those who arrived at unsociable hours was much appreciated. Our room was a little way from reception and we were told the long way to walk. Had I been more awake I would have read the map! So let’s break it down. Location - there are stunning views over Cala D’or Marina and it was wonderful eating our meals watching the boats and the people on the marina. There are steps but there are also lifts and there are ramps where possible. It’s on a bit of a hill but taking two people with mobility problems, this never proved an issue for us. Facilities - yes, they are a little dated but they are perfectly fine. The hotel is generally kept very clean. Pool areas were clean (apart from the mess made by others used but that cannot be put down to the hotel). There was always enough sun beds and the 30 minute reservation rule was policed. Staff - AMAZING! Every member of staff that we encountered from cleaners to cooks, bar staff, restaurant staff, reception and animation were lovely and couldn’t do more for you. Definitely appreciated the odd word said in Spanish. Special shout outs to Juan, Christian and Neto. We will miss you guys! Rooms - Mixed bag this one. We had a 2 bedroom apartment. They are comfortable but not the cleanest. Surface clean - yes, but floors dirty when walking on bare foot and some interesting marks on the walls. Our balcony doors didn’t lock, but this was sorted signing the hour when reported. There was water on arrival, you can either refill and the multiple water stations around the site or buy from the bar or shop just off site, and the coffee was refilled. Did need to get tbags from the restaurant if you wanted them. Our air con worked amazingly. The only negatives we really had is the water pressure (but there is not much they can do about that), not enough balcony chairs (we just moved the ones from inside, out) and the fact that the water in the taps/showers is salt treated so not drinkable and can make little eyes sting. Would we return. Definitely. Amazing holiday with amazing memories made. Muchos gracias Team Palia Peurto del Sol

We are a family of 5, three kids aged 15, 13 and 10 and we all LOVED this hotel! We arrived at about 1am and were told to get food and drinks from the restaurant which was a great start as we were tired and hungry. It was clean, great location overlooking the marina, beautiful pools and the food was fantastic even for two veggies! The salad selection was great, a huge dish of paella every day, lots of great choices for fussy children and the desserts were so tasty! Plus the pool bar had burgers, hotdogs and fries plus more everyday which suited my children perfectly. The town centre is a 10/15 minute walk away but so pleasant to walk around the marina. Lots of shops nearby. We walked to three beautiful nearby beaches. The wine, beer and sangria on tap was a great added bonus. We all loved this holiday and we will definitely return. Thank you to all of the staff on the reception, the kitchen, the bar, restaurant and cleaning staff for making our holiday so special!

Our third time here at Palia Puerto Del Sol. I feel this hotel is in the perfect spot of Cala Dor, with an amazing view of the harbour. The staff are amazing and went above and beyond with short notice . They sent staff out to buy a birthday cake and candles for my friend. (Within 30 minutes) The Jumbo team are all great characters, especially Mathias and Tileo, who made my friends birthday that extra special. These guys have the best vibe. They interact so well with all the guests and have time for everyone. We appreciate all the staff that catered for our needs. Thank you guys!

The hotel is lovely and clean and the food is good, the majority of the guests are French who were all really nice to me and my English family. The animation team offer excellent daytime entertainment for adults and kids whilst in the evening you can sit up in the bar and look over the nightlife at the marina. Special mention to Mathias in the animation team, he was a polite, funny and attentive young man with excellent language skills. He is a credit to his parents and I sincerely hope his parents read this. Thank you to everyone at this hotel for a lovely family holiday.
